This bustling Korean supermarket is the headquarters for stocking up on authentic ethnic ingredients.. The Scene
Situated in central Koreatown, this sprawling grocery store is more active and populated than any Southland mall. Outside the entrance, cargo trucks line up as dozens of aproned workers hurry to and fro, transporting crates and bins of fresh fish and produce. Inside, the space is bright and warehouse-like, and if you need help, better brush up on your Korean: Very few employees speak English. Signs, however, are in both languages.

The Goods
"Abundance" is an apt word for the selection. Goodies like almond cookies and chocolate-covered crackers in packages adorned with anime bunnies and bears are aplenty, as are frozen pot stickers, red bean ice cream, dried anchovies, sake, ginseng drinks, rice punch and noodles. American brands like Pepsi and Dreyer's are stocked as well. There's also a bakery teeming with rice snacks, sesame crackers and coconut-raisin bread and a full-service deli offering fish and meats prepared with pepper and wasabe.
