Much of the street parking is restricted after 11pm. For late dinners, consider using the Spaceland valet just north of the restaurant on Silver Lake.
Know Before You Go:

Look Good:
Live music club Spaceland is right across the street. Check the marquee to see who's performing and catch a show after dinner.

FOOD AND THE PIANIST GUILHERME SCHROETER A GREAT COMBO !!!

by Carl Shifell

I love the Michelangelo, when I came to Los Angeles, not only because the food, but because the PIANIST, GUILHERME SCHROETER - that plays film pop and CLASSICAL LIKE A CONCERT PIANIST !!!

He performs mondays tuesdays and wednesdays (sundays too) there (6 to 10pm), as well the remain days (except sundays) at HAMLET HAMBURGER`s (9201 Sunset Boulevard 90069) west hollywood`s BABY GRAND PIANO !!

He is the only one pianist that not only play jazz (like any pianist in los angeles) but also capable to play like Liberace, film themes arranged mastery, the golden era music, pop famous themes, and ever arrangements from OPERAS, and SIMPHONIES!!

Not worth a visit

by keenast

Been there with 3 friends a few days ago. I've ordered the special of the day 'rack of lamb' which was barely OK, but just barely. Really hard to chew meat dunked in a thick sauce .....;-( All that for $28 !

The waitress did not allow me to pour wine for our friends at the table. Just to make sure, the bottle was bought there, at the restaurant. She said she'd get fired if she let me pour the wine! This is an Italian restaurant, right? Probably never of the owners or associates there ever was in Italy, but hey.

The place really is a step down from the older location. The tiny parking place the restaurant owns costs now $3.50 for 'valet parking'. Wow!

Now here comes the best of the worst: I got the bill, I glanced at the bill and found it a bit high. I re-calculated and found that the asked amount is about $50 higher than what we actually consumed. I asked the waitress to have a look at it. She took it and left and then we haven't seen her for good 10 minutes! Then she came back with a new invoice with no word of apology or explanation! She just said: it wasn't me!

I signed the invoice and another 'waiter' then came to pick it up. I asked about the invoice and he said 'No, it wasn't him either'. The whole thing was not funny. The manager or whoever is in charge didn't find it necessary to apologize and they wouldn't even find it cool to maybe offer coffee or something to calm the waters.

What a disappointment. Never again!

silverlake gem

by vitelloni

we have had many wonderful meals here and we keep going back. the food is uncomplicated but delicious, and consistently so; the atmosphere is cozy, warm, unpretentious; and the prices thoroughly reasonable.

It's everything one looks for in a neighborhood eatery.

we feel like family every time we visit.

bravo.

  • Pros: great pizza, thin crust; papardella domenico
