Tips for Kaiser Permanente Medical Care

Like shopping for Health Care at the mall (in the 3rd world). I wouldn't even call what I recieved at Kaiser Permanente "Health Care." I went for my first appointment in May for pain in my shoulder. My doctor referred me to the orthopedic specialist. It took me 3 months to get an appointment. Once I saw the orthopedic specialist, he referred me for physical therapy. Now I'm told I will have to wait until November for an appointment. I can't believe I have to wait in pain for FIVE MONTHS to get any kind of relief. Not to mention that I had to wait for an hour and a half just to be seen by my primary care physician and then have to wait on hold up to 45 minutes JUST TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!! Then I notice online that their pharmacy tried to overcharge me and when I call to resolve the issue I'm given the neverending runaround. It seems that KP is only interested in one thing MAKING MONEY!!!

Admission Staff Responsible for worst day of my entire life.. My husband (yes we are legally married) had heart surgery at Kaiser Sunset. After the doctor told me I could see him the woman in admissions (initials YL) refused to let me do so because I had not waited her required two hours. The nurse overseeing him even called and asked for me to come up and see him but YL pretended she could not locate me in order to keep us apart. We have a durable power of attorney for health care, an advance directive and I am his legal spouse. No one can ever make up for the anguish and paid that evil anti-gay bigot caused that day. Thank God he survived. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone who ever has any options.

Life Saver. Face it, all emergency serives in Los Angeles area have to wait 4 to 10 hours these days. I knew that all alone. Kaiser Sunset really a saver! My daughter had stomach ache and got worst in an hour. I took her there. The staff spoke to me at Triage room and not too long they called us to the room and started all the workout and pain medication all within a couple hour, The doctor was able to tell us that she has appentitis! But the medication worked magic and she slept the rest of time she was there before they wheeled her to the surgery. My husband and I was very please! After surgery, she recovery well and the follow-up check was great. I have no complaint of this place. (well, either here or Hollywood Pres) Yes, these days Health Care is a tough business. More and more unempolyee and they used fake id or social secuity number. How the Hospital could have new equiments or new staffs? Everyone seem to work their "butt" off if you asked me! Those condition pretty much due to the lack of burget. If you want to blame, blame on our government and those WHO abuse the system! No the service!!! We all think the service in Kaiser Sunset was great !!! :D

Substandard Care Across The Board - Avoid At All Cost!. Like a stereotypical welfare clinic: Filthy, crowded, low staff moral and questionable, apathetic, cattle call medicine. The associated hospital takes substandard care to new heights with equally dirty, ill-equipped facilities, substandard nursing staff and confused, over burdened doctors. If you are stuck with this medical insurance avoid this location like the plague! Our daughter went in for an appt, the doctor wanted to admit her - It took 18hours from the time we saw the doctor until our 8 year-old was finally given a bed, one that was in the doorway of a room with 6 other kids, a room that was meant only to accommodate 4. Disgusting. Imagine sitting in the waiting area for 18hours with a sick child.

Patch me up and make me feel better. I was born here, had a couple surgeries here, and much medical attention! This place gives you tender loving care. And for 132 a month you can get there personal advantage program with 15 dollar doctor visits and 10 dollars on prescriptions! Nice facilities with a knowledgable staff that will not give you the run around! Come here next time you have a heart attack!
