very tasty fries, tasty burger, warm drink, just horrible place
Worst Fat Burger Location. OK first let me say that Fat burger makes a pretty tasty burger. I used to eat regularly at their Studio City location near my former employment adress. Not having eaten a fatburger in some time i decided to pop on down to this location. I was watching a fight on TV so i thought i would call in an order to save time. The phone rings and rings...nothing, no answer. I call again to no avail. OH well i jump in my car and head down. I was happy to see they had a drive through! NOt so in Studio City. I ordered up the fatburger deal (burger fries and drink) and the total came to a whopping $10.86. Wow about two bucks more than in Studio City. There was one vehicle ahead of me. After a 20 minuted wait...(no kidding and no exageration), they handed one single bag of food to the car ahead of me and they left. I paid for my order and watched as the staff joked around, talked on cellphones and generally had no interest in thier duties it seems. The window worker hands me my iced tea. Warm and no ice. Ummm OK. Anyone ever get a warm drink from a drive through? Ever? I had to flag her down repeatedly to finally get her attention. She got me some ice. After another 10 minutes i recieved my food. I got home opened up the bag and removed my pricy burger. The bun was covered in grease, soggy and unpleasent to hold onto. The fries as usual were very tasty, cripsy and hot. All in all it was one of the strangest legnthy costly and unsatisfying fast food experience ever. I will drive to the studio city location or the west hollywood location if i ever want another fatburger. This place is just horrible.
Cheaper than Hamburger Hamlet, tastier than McDonald's--Fatburger might just be the superhero of fast food..
The Scene
This is a fast-food joint all the way: Order at the counter and employees, sans headphones, bark the order to the fry cooks. Retro jukeboxes usually hold court in the middle of the restaurants, but are rarely used, since jazz and R&B are always piped in through speakers.
The Food
Sure, there's the grilled chicken sandwich and the chili dog, but other than that, it's all burgers. Wrapped in paper, served on plastic trays and dripping with toppings--mustard, mayo, relish, tomatoes, lettuce and onion--these burgers are definitely fat. Add cheese, bacon and a fried egg and you've got a hefty, cholesterol-laden treat. Or go the healthy route and order the turkey burger with everything; it's almost as good as the red-meat variety, and just as messy. Skip the ordinary fries and order a side of the fresh onion rings--the grease factor is low, and the crispy, golden batter is delicious.
That is a TASTY burger. Great burgers. Good Fries(I prefer Fat Fries - well done) Try the Kingburger. Huge and delicious, but (fair warning) you'll be able to go without eating for a couple of days after. Also, one of the better jukeboxes in town. Lots of classic R&B (Aretha, Otis, etc...). I just wish they would bring back their hot wings.
