In Short – Bringing together a fairly close knit community of reprobates and lunatics, Mondo Video is home to the best cultural rot available on VHS. The mostly family-run store attracts an odd collection of cinemaphiles and oddballs who come as much for the store's carnival atmosphere as for the tapes. From legitimate fringe cinema (Andy Warhol, Russ Myers) to cultural low points (the entire "Jerry Springer: Too Hot for TV" collection) to total aberrations (midget porn), nothing is sacred here. –

Mondo video is its own little universe, almost like a bizarro-world version of Clerks. This is were bad people go to do worse things, or at least rent a film of someone else doing it. The regular open mike events are not to be missed, and in the meantime you can occupy yourself with 20+ years of videos and a rapidly expanding DVD catalogue featuring the works of Gary Glitter, Svetlana, Jamaa Fanaqua Russ Meyer, Doris Whitaker, Titus Moody, Kenneth Anger, John Stagliano, and just about everyone in between.

Everybody that works there KNOWS about Movies. They are great with requests and try to help everyone out.They may not be "main-stream".
But Everyone at Mondo are AWSOME people.

Refreshing Alternative to Mainstream

Mondo is a great place to find those obscure cult videos you've always heard of but never managed to find. Or the ones you've never heard of, can't believe they exist, and can't believe your good luck when you find them. A very seedy completely unpretentious atmosphere, including lots of porn and a permanent cigarette smell, but it's all part of the unique charm. If you're looking for horror, cult, camp, kitsch, or otherwise bizarre and unclassifiable entertainment, give it a try. The downside - No DVDs (last time I checked), not real cheap, you get them for one night only, and they aint kidding about the late fees. But still well worth it.

Parking:
Parking in the neighborhood can be tough, but if you creep through the alley you'll find Mondo's own lot, which is rarely full.
Save Money:
If you're inclined to save a few bucks, all rentals are two-for-the-price-of-one on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
