This place is GREAT!. This place is a great value. A tiny spot that you may overlook but you won't miss the smell of the great food emenating from the wooden spring door. Really great value for chicken katsu, terikyaki and california rolls. A real don't miss if you live in the Los Feliz/ Silverlake area!

User review by thegut. A wonderfully delicious deal. My very special friend who reigns from Japan prefers to go here than to the other so-called 9+ rating Japanese restaurants. The thing is, when you are about to retire for the night and the pants you wore to MAco lay on the floor and you catch a wiff of that assiduous ambrosial scent that is Maco, you will dream nicely. OISHII!

Maco's... LA's Secret Japanese Place. Two blocks away, Maco's is my place to go when I need something fast, cheap and amazingly delicious. I don't usually eat in, however.

The teriyaki and tempura dishes here are wonderful. The portions are not enormous, but just right for me.

One of the BEST VALUES in LA.... This is easily one of, if not The Best, no frills, cheap eats restaurants in LA... It's a paradise for those searching for a "hole in the wall" establishment, since it has no sign and is hidden under the Los Feliz 3 Theaters marquee. Specials before 4pm include Teriyaki and Tempura Bowls for $1.95!

The food's good (especially the Yakisoba), and the price only makes it better... The "Values" section of CitySearch list a bunch of places that cost $7 & up, but Maco's is the ultimate inexpensive eatery!

Cheap & Good. So cheap, and so good. $3.75 gets you a 12 piece veggie roll w/ a bowl of miso soup and a salad. They don't have an extensive menu, a lot of seating, or a staff that speaks English very well. But the food's super cheap, super good, and super quick. They play classic rock on their little radio by the grill. They have take out as well. In between the Los Feliz 3 and Skylight Books.
