In Short
Since opening in 1979, this hidden find is where off-duty industry folk, scruffy 20-somethings and veggie-centric foodies have been converging to partake in casual southern Indian fare. Beyond the iron-clad security door lies a plant-shrouded patio replete with outdoor tables and an intimate booth-lined interior surrounded by colofrul knickknacks. Most dishes build on lentils, rice and vegetables with staples like masala dosa, uppuma and sambar. Lunch specials such as the mini thali provide an array of tastes, including samplings of raita, a dill-flavored cold yogurt salad.

I've tried it a couple of times and found it to be on the greasy side. The food didn't seem as fresh and flavorful as other Indian Restaurants. Not good enough quality for me to go back.

I work very close to this restaurant and have always wanted to give it a try. So I ordered take out one day. The staff was very friendly and warm. While I waited for my food the host brought me a cup of chai and we chatted a bit about my husband's culture (since he is also Indian) and his. I ordered dosa's and samosas and they were both delicious, although I would order one or the other because they both have the same filling inside ( I didn't know that because it was my first time trying the dosa's). Everything else on the menu sounds delicious! The interior of the place is also very beautiful. After visiting and describing the place to my visit we both are excited to go back and have dinner there. I also think it looks very romantic and would make an excellent date spot.

Passing through the buzzer iron gates and somewhat dingy outer patio makes the cozy interior feel even more intimate. The two guys that run the show in the dining room are super friendly and helpful, and they serve you pretty fantastic food. A lot, for the money. At first glance it might not look like there's a lot of variety on the meatless menu, but that's in part because each dish comes with a lot of variety itself. Make sure to try the paratha, it's great here.
