In Short
Yuca's tacos and burritos are served on the same paper plates on which your tab is inked, but that belies the understated elegance of these culinary creations. The burritos--like the standard bean and cheese--are thin and rectangular, not the sleeping bag-sized rolls found at other stands. Tacos are basic; corn tortillas with meat (grilled carne asada, machacha, carnitas or cochinita pibil) and topped with chopped onions and a dollop of salsa. Perhaps the real newsmaker is the $2.50 cheeseburger--salty, small and delicious--it's one of the menu's many gems. The lemonade's not bad either. Prepare to wait a bit on the weekends with a pack of hungry Eastsiders all eyeing the same few tables positioned around the stand.

By closet, I mean it literally. Across the street from Albertson's on Hillhurst, Yuca's square footage of parking is ten times larger than the building (if you could even call it that) itself. It's family owned and has won many awards over the years for their excellent burritos and tacos. Los Feliz and Silverlake locals are known to frequent the place, along with the entertainment executive and celebrity regulars. My favorite order has got to be their carne asada fries. Though they are a bit small, their bangin' taste has got you licking every last bit of of it. I never let a single minced onion escape my lips. Since there is only 3 people working Yuca's at one time, (not including the sweet grandma that takes your orders and always spells your name wrong), the wait can be a bit long, but it's always worth it. The people that eat there are always friendly, which makes the ambiance quite un-Los Angeles-like.

Whenever burritos are mention, this is the first place that comes to mind. Been going here for over 14 years now and it still the best in my opinion, not the best looking but who cares when it so good..Definitely worth stopping by if you love mexican food.

There's not a Lot of variety this place can offer, but what it's got it's got good. People are right about the puerco pibil-- it's fantastic and the feature of the menu. It's a real fun place to stop and grab some food.
