amazing quick mexican food, best little burritos, best mexican tacos, love yucas, thin meat, favorite meal, highly overrated place
bland and overrated. i've lived in los feliz for years and burritos are my favorite food. i don't know why people are so into this place. i think it's just a trendy thing to say you love yucas and it makes people feel cool that they know about this little dive in los feliz. however, the burritos are flat out greasy and not very tasty. the tortillas are good, i'll give them that, but there are way, WAY better burritos in los angeles, and within walking distance of yucas. go to casa diaz on hollywood and vermont, get a carne asada burrito there, and then think about yucas while you're eating it. did someone just tell you that yucas was good? is it really good? do you miss the grease running down your arms and collecting on your elbows? yes? then go back to yucas and keep the myth alive.
Best Mexican ever. This is the ultimate neighborhood taco stand: always friendly, quick, cheap, and the food is mindblowingly delicious. The burrito is basically perfect, with mouthwatering shredded beef or pork, tender beans, and a dry floury tortilla. Try it with the green sauce. I think the machaca beef burrito is the way to go, but the carne asada's not bad either, and you can't complain about the pork. Definitely not for vegetarians or dieters, but Yuca's isn't trying to be anything it's not; if you're looking for simple, wholesome, incredibly yummy Mexican, this is the place to go.
The best tacos in Los Angeles...hands down!. There tacos and burritos are simply amazing. I think the carnitas are the best thing on the menu but everything else is great. My wife (a true Mexican) loves the beans and that says a lot. She'll hardly eats Mexican food at most places, particularly the beans! I've been there a million times and I haven't been disappointed yet. The owners are really sweet and always friendly. Best of all, my little boy loves it too! He's a finicky eater but he loves the beans too.
Yucas-AAAAAA!. I love Yucas. I've been eating there for over 20 years. I call Mama Mama. By far the best quick Mexican food in L.A. They have been there forever, and just ask any steady customer, it is a great place for a quick meal. Those in the know, know where to go.....johnny c.
Expensive Mexican junk food. The food is OK, but nothing like Titos Tacos. It is a hole in the wall and the day I was there, the health inspector was arguing with owner about lack of proper refrigeration and proper sanitation. After getting sick at Purans (Next door), I was very afraid to take the risk. The portions are way too small for Mexican food and the quality is not much better than your average hole in the wall. Expect to spend over $10 to get full.
I don't care - best burrito in the world.. There is something about the soft flour tortillas and the flavor of the slow cooked tender pork that just can't be matched. Its the perfect saturday morning hangover fix. Greasy enough to the booze out of your system, but not so heavy that your whole day is ruined for eating the whole thing. I never ever ever get sick of eating here. BEST ON THE PLANET. They should franchise it and put McDonalds out of business.
NO chicken?? Hope you like beef or greasy pork. Granted, I've never been to the Yucatan, but somehow I have a feeling they have chicken there. But not at Yuca's. This place is definitely not reccomended for vegetarians or people who just aren't red meat eaters like myself. I've been ton tons and tons of little taco shacks all over LA and Yuca's seems a little half-assed to me. I ordered two carnitas tacos (because they had no chicken) and it was unbelievably salty I had to drown it in hot sauce and couldn't finish it. I also ordered a side of beans, which were delicious, but noted on the menu that it's made with pork lard. There. You've been warned.
Good, cheap fast food.. So I'm stuck at work and all I want more than anything else is Yuca's steak sandwich. It is sooo yummy. I can understand the comments made on some of the reviews about how Yuca's tacos and burritos aren't the ultimate best in Los Angeles. But if you're a Silver Lake/Los Feliz local and you need a quick and yummy fix, Yuca's is where to go. But if you're hungry on Sundays, don't bother going there; they're closed.
outstanding and worth the drive. i have been coming here since jaimie(now deceased) and his wife, socorro opened this amazing eatery. i have never eaten anything here that was less than terrific. daughter dora pretty much runs the show now but mama socorro is there every day doing her magic. i have seen many top celebs eating here, too busy eating wonderful food to even stop and sign an autograph(which is frowned upon, they need their privacy) i dont live in the neighborhood anymore but still manage to get to los feliz area as much as possible and for only three reasons,,,,,dora, mama, and their amazing food.
Burrito Heaven. The editorial review says it all... delicious food served out of a hole in the wall. The machaca burritos are simply prepared yet delicious.
