In Short
Vermont Avenue's elite huddle at the bar, swapping screenwriting secrets over aperitifs, while diners squeeze into red banquettes. The Parisian fin-de-siècle decor is re-created with French antiques, cast-iron chandeliers and a zinc bar. The menu includes bistro standards such as garlic butter escargot, imported cheese platters and a grilled steak topped with Roquefort and peppercorn sauce--with a side of frites. Croissants, baguettes and pastries are baked fresh each morning in the adjoining bakery.

This place is going way down hill since the new owners took over. I used to like coming here but my last few experiences have been really bad and I don't think I'll go back.
Pros: the beautiful decor
Cons: the horrible service and mediocre food

We ate here and had terrible service. Extremely poor service. Figaro’s Café is an interesting place. It looks sort of shabby on the outside but inside it has 2 rooms one sort funky and bohemian like and the other more like a bistro you’d find in Paris. The food is good but high priced. Our waitress was truly terrible. When we asked what the specials were she pointed to a sign a couple of tables away where it was leaning on a chair and she said “it’s over there you can go read it. At the end when we asked to see a desert tray she said we could go see what the deserts are by getting up and going to see what they had at the bakery. It took a busboy to bring us the desert tray. We had the beef beef bourgninon which was served in a cute dish complete with the top. It had very little meat lots of thick fettuccine noodles, loaded with potatoes ad carrots. Not what we expected at all. Tasty but not enough meat. We had to add lots of salt to get that taste out of it too.
Pros: Interesting looking place
Cons: terrible service
