What People Are Saying About Uncle Jer's

In Short – This funky corner shop is packed with cool stuff and usually more than a few fellow shoppers. You'll find plenty of goodies for the ladies, but boys can leave happy too. The eclectic blend of imports and carefully chosen pop culture, apparel and cosmetic items is distinctly Uncle Jer's vision. Drop in for unusually intense scented candles, tongue-in-cheek Dirty Girl brand bath stuff, gorgeous (and big) bugs under glass, and elegant Japanese dishes and a big selection of sassy greeting cards.
Great finds

The thing I love about Uncle Jer's is that you never know what you'll find. The cards & little gifts make it a great stop for a b-day gift. The clothes are hit & miss, sometimes I love everything in the store & sometimes I wouldn't even touch some stuff. Overall, I enjoy stopping in. Watch the variations in on the prices, though, some shirts are $90 and others are $5. Hit the sale rack!
Eastside gem has lost some luster
by jennerbishop_citysearch
This Silver Lake staple has recently changed ownership and the caliber of merchandise has sadly declined. While Uncle Jer's used to be crammed full of exotic and quirky imports--think Shiva lunchpails, intricately carved teak bookends, bejeweled paper lanterns--it now feels like just another Fred Segal stand hocking bath oils for a small fortune.
- Pros: Handmade jewelry
- Cons: Resting on reputation

Parking:
Your best bet is to grab a meter, but be sure to check the signs for restrictions.
Know Before You Go:
After perusing all the fun stuff at Uncle Jer's, walk across the street to the famed and hip Vista Theatre and see a flick. It's retro-fabulous and shows first-run movies.
