Great place to work out!

I joined a few weeks ago and I LOVE this gym. SO MUCH BETTER than the meat-show at 24 Hour Fitness, etc. There are always machines open and low key people of all walks of life are there!
I just wish there were more wipey dispencers to wipe the machines off!!! Also, the locker rooms could be updated a tad :)

They don't seem able to safeguard bank information.

Received a letter from them telling me one of their computers that had member's personal info was stolen.
Subsequently unauthorized withdrawals began showing up on my bank statement. Had to change banks, spending a considerable amount of time on the phone trying to clean up the mess. Wrote them a letter about this - have yet to receive any kind of response. Canceled my membership. Had been a member at other Y's for over 20 years. Very irritated about this.
- Pros: Dues reasonable / Relaxed atmosphere
- Cons: Bank account numbers not safeguarded.

POORLY RUN - INEFFICIENT - DEBIT CARD INFO STOLEN

Terrible place. They claimed that one of their workers stole a computer with sensitive information in it; I cancelled the debit card I had registered with them, and called and left several messages to request that they cancel my membership. No one ever called me back...EVER!!! Then I received a letter from them stating that my card was declined and they are charging me $15 for the rejection. This is the most inefficient "Y" I have ever known. It's run by children who like to play. Besides, it's dirty.
- Cons: No one ever responds to calls. Poorly run operation.

Parking:
There are two YMCA lots--enter one on Cassil, the other on Selma--that charge $1 for three hours with validation (look for the stamps on the table just inside the entrance or at the front desk). Otherwise, meters abound.
Save Money:
The YMCA philosophy holds that no one should be denied a workout due to a lack of funds. You can receive discounted rates if you can prove eligibility (they will ask for tax returns).
Know Before You Go:
Class schedules and other special offerings are available from a rack on a wall near the entrance.
The Extras:
Fill out a complaint card and turn it in. Then find the response posted on the second floor board.
