What People Are Saying About Juices Fountain

In Short – Angelenos looking for a quick cool-down head to this small mom and pop shop. This low-key haven for actors and wanderers is packed with fruit--and fruit decor--from watermelon-painted windows and pineapple tablecloths to carts of fresh tropical fruit. While most of the juice bar's fans visit for smoothies like the blackberry cream shake, this unassuming restaurant also features healthy snacks like dried fruit and low-fat sandwiches like turkey avocado.

Editor's Tips

Parking:
Street parking is available, but can be hard to find. There's a pay lot located close to the restaurant at Hollywood and Vine.
Look Good:
Many sandwiches feature low-fat mayo, low-fat ham and multi-grain bread.
The Extras:
For extra nutrition and a natural energy booster, add bee pollen to your shake. If you're allergic to it, try ginger, protein or dates instead.
drinks
100.0% positive
  1. My drink had blackberries, yogurt, and honey and everything was fresh, with not much added sugar, either.
  2. The smoothies are the best I have had in LA - all natural ingredients and custom made to order, plus they give you the entire blender so you're actually paying for two drinks.

Beware: Infestation and gross contamination of untensils/equipment

by cleanfr34k

Be weary of this place!

The health inspection people shuts its doors on June 12 because of " Gross contamination of utensils/equipment", "Vermin Harborage" and "Vermin infestation".

Don't get me wrong, you have to be pretty dirty for the health dept. to shut you down.

I would avoid this place like the plague.

This place kicks butt!

I was sad to see the Juice Fountain move, but their new location right on Hollywood is just fine with me. The juices are all made really fresh (Blackberry Cream is my favorite) and there are a handful of great sandwiches there too!

  • Pros: Fresh fresh fresh
  • Cons: Parking can be a challenge

yummy, fresh juices

by bootsytown

I tried this juice stand before they moved to their new location, near El Capitan. (They had to move because of the development mentioned by the previous reviewer.) My drink had blackberries, yogurt, and honey and everything was fresh, with not much added sugar, either.

Please Help Protect "The Juices Fountain" to be part of the Proposed New Development

by jmd89

Regarding The Juices Fountain, I understand there is a proposed development that through eminent domain, will require the closure of the "The Juices Fountain". While it is important for the City to improve the community, it is equally important to also preserve the Los Angeles past. It is possible that the City of Los Angeles provide incentives for The Juices Fountain so they can remain in operation, or incentives for the new development to incorporate establishments that have remained in the community for 30 years or more, into the new design of the proposed development.

This would help to preserve the uniqueness and significance of the Los Angeles past, by incorporating these establishments into new developments for furture improvements. To help to protect a piece of Los Angeles history in Hollywood, please write a note requesting the City Planning Commission to require that The Juices Fountain be incorporated into the plan of the proposed development by calling 213-482-7077 or by FAX at 213-482-7080

*delicious and healthy*

by christine_laporte

All of the food is fresh, healthy and yummy. The sandwich bread is honey wheat and absolutely delicious. They have lots of choices for vegetarians - salads, fruit and veggie sandwiches. The smoothies are the best I have had in LA - all natural ingredients and custom made to order, plus they give you the entire blender so you're actually paying for two drinks. Plus everything is inexpensive.

  • Pros: yummy, healthy, inexpensive
