Editorial Review for Off Vine--TEMPORARILY CLOSED – by Martha Burr
The Scene
An eclectic mix of families and industry hipsters settle in for dinner at this gorgeously restored Craftsman gem, with beamed ceilings, glass built-ins and a working fireplace. There's also an utterly charming front porch shaded by vines, and a romantic patio that twinkles with white lights and candles.
The Food
The California-style menu is fairly standard, including Dungeness crab cakes and deftly grilled eggplant and red peppers that are light and fresh, served with creamy goat cheese fritters. Entrees arrive in generous portions, and the sides are uniformly good. Filet mignon is butter-tender, set off by a mushroom glaze that complements without overwhelming. Linguini with giant shrimp, scallops, and spinach in a delicate lobster cream sauce is also a winning combo. Desserts include Grand Marnier souffle and simple fresh-fruit options.

off vine is gone! my husband and i are soo very sad to hear that our favorite resturant is gone. we have been going to off vine since day one, we always had a great time and were always welcomed at the door as if we were family. the food was so great and almost guilt-free because it was healthy, flavorful and plentiful. the souffles were to die for! our hearts are broken. we love you all and you are all in our prayers. hope you come back very soon!
Pros: great souffles
Cons: uni=sex bathroom

Off Vine caught on fire last night and and, while not burned to the ground, is pretty much irrepairably damaged. I will miss my favorite restaurant.
