great afterwork place, good bad food, best cf patio, great horrendous service, great atmosphere, overpriced food, friendly wait staff

Beautiful courtyard complete with a water fountain and drink specials make this an easy venue to start off a night in Hollywood.
Great pub. I like coming here for happy hour. drinks are pretty cheap in general and at happy hour. ther'es also little nibbles of cheese and some cooked stuff. my fave (not on the hh menu) are the crab fingers. so yummy. wine list isn't great but it is a pub after all. patio is fun but sometimes you have to order food to sit there. servers are nice but it can take some time to get your drinks.
good burger , horrendous service.
been here twice. i have to say i like the juicy burger they serve up and would even splurge on one right now. The prices were not extremely high and the hamburger was juicy and big just how I like it. The fries "chips" were also decent and even better when accompanied by vinegar.
However , my we had the worst waitress ever the first time we went. She did not come back to our table to ask if we wanted refills , my girlfriend got up and went to the bar to buy a soda then the waitress all of the sudden comes over and tells us that it's not free refills and if we need something we have to get it from her. Anyways this place is not good by any means for food , all of the reviews are right but i would imagine it's a fun place to get drinks at night.
Bad Service, rude staff, rude owner. For a place that has such a cozy, inviting environment, it has the coldest and rudest staff. The food was just okay, the waitress was unattentive and the bartender didn't even know the drinks on the menu. If you want lousy service this is the place for you. If you want good food and nice atmosphere, then pick one of the other thousands of resturants in LA. They'd love to treat you right.
Near perfect pub.. Love eating outside, and smoking a stogie. The food is traditional British, and the courtyard is inviting. Some more beer selection would be welcomed, but other than that, I'll see you next week!
Gorgeous place to get a drink. The Cat & Fiddle is a great place for a cozy drink anytime of the day or night. I used to meet friends here for early evening and always felt welcome and comfortable. The large outdoor area is distinct among Hollywood bars. Take a group of friends and you'll have a great time.
Good times!. I have a good time eveytime i go to the Cat N'Fiddle pub. Being from SF, its a friendly bar that isn't pretentious at all (like some bars in LA, & well... i guess everywhere...), they have live music, darts, pool and lots of people go. I accidentally found it and am glad I did. When i visit LA, its a good spot if i want to chill.
Extremely disappointed. Usually I have a good time when I go to Cat and Fiddle. Tonight, however, was a different story. The service was terrible and the hostess was probably the rudest human being I've ever dealt with. Don't waste your time here.
My Birthday party!. Let me start by saying I have been coming here for over 20 years. I loved the food and the owners and the staff in the past. I have had numerous parties here in the past. s not like me to do this. But this was my worst birthday ever... I can't write the review I want to
Resting on laurels.
Having not been to the C & F for some years, I visited yesterday and spent several hours in the courtyard with friends. The atmosphere is still good, but the place has an air of indifference. The waitress was beautiful and did her job, but without any enthusiasm. For a pub, the beer menu was pathetic and was completely without imagination. There's an interesting world out there. They should feature some of it. There are very few beers, and the ones they do have are mostly for the rubes and tourists.
This place could be much more interesting. The owners should take a fresh look at their operation.
Fun outdoor patio, but poor service. We went one night last week after work. Patio is always fun, beers are great. I've been here several times. But that night, we had an awful waitress. I ordered the veggie burger, she asked me if i wanted cheese, to which i replied "yes." When the food came, there was no cheese on the burger, which was ok, but the veggie burger was terrible. Dry and hard. I took one bite of it, and didn't eat anymore of it. Even when she noticed that it was hardly eaten, she said nothing. Didn't offer to take it back - nothing. I was with a group of people, so felt badly asking for it to be redone. When it came time to pay the bill, nothing was deducted off of the bill. We still tipped her nicely, but left a note telling her to "ask a person why they hardly touch their meal the next time you notice it." It was difficult to find her anytime we needed anything, etc etc. I'd come here again - just avoid the food and don't be in a hurry for service.
Great food, crappy service. My friends and I decided to try this place out because we were in the area. It had a very cool atmosphere and the food was incredibly British (just what we were looking for). The service, though, has much to be desired. Our waitress seemed annoyed that she had to wait on us (what a concept!). It took over 10 minutes to get someone to take our drink order, and almost as long to get our beer. She hardly ever came over to check on us. Thank god for the very sweet hostess who ended up picking up the slack for this sorry excuse for a server. Even though the food was wonderful, my friends and I will not be returning. . .EVER.
