What People Are Saying About The Ruby

This Hollywood venue hosts different clubs on different nights, popular with the new wave, hipster and 18-and-over crowd. Inside, music videos and movie clips are played as a DJ spins and go-go boxes beckon dancers who are not so shy. Unlike the ultra-trendy clubs on Hollywood Boulevard, the scene at The Ruby is much more relaxed.

Not bad

Nothing special in here. The music is too outdated. I'm not talking about those retro stuff 'cause that's common sense. The sound system is too annoying. It's not good for your ears. Too much treble and I can't even feel the bass at all. There's a distortion/noise with their sound system too. I mean, it's really ok to blast those speakers onto it's full volume as long as it won't distort that much.. Divided rooms are too close to each other as in you could really hear mixture of different genres which is also annoying. The ambience is so dirty.

My Favorite of all time

by ohWhatsername at Citysearch

I was introduced to the World when I was 19 and have been going ever since. I'm now 27...almost 28 (yikes!) and I still LOVE this place. The crowd on Friday nights are more friendly, and there are a lot of regulars. Saturdays there is great musictoo but I noticed the people can be a little rude though. Oh, and the sweetest bartender is this little lady in the back room, she takes care of me everytime go.

  • Pros: Atmosphere, music
  • Cons: They turn the heater on sometimes!, prices for water are high
