From the kimono-clad waitresses offering oshibori (traditional hot, moist towels) to the flying bowls of rice, Ichiban is pure theater. Seated in a horseshoe formation around a huge griddle, you and nine other diners ooh and ahh as the chef demonstrates the art of teppanyaki (griddle cooking). The chefs chop, slice and set ablaze filet mignon, shrimp, baby lobster, scallops and teriyaki chicken. Dinners include a chicken liver and mushroom appetizer, soup and green tea.

Horrible place with bad food, bad service, and unsafe environment. I was visiting Minneapolis for the first time with family. We went for the sushi buffet and 15 minutes after we sat down, when I looked for my bag to get my camera, my bag was missing. I asked the hostesses and they were completely apathetic. They simply did not care. Sushi chef saw a man enter the restaurant freely walked around pretending to find a friend. He also saw him walking around with a jacket held on his arms back and forth couple of times. My entire bag, camera with pictures, ipod, cash, keys to my car and apartment, gift cards, phone, ID, and wallet was ALL TAKEN. Not only did they let this man in without identifying whether he had a table, who he was with or escort him to a table, they ignored the whole situation. In fact, Manager NEVER SHOWED UP even when the police arrived. He only came out reluctantly when we asked for him. After all this, he actually asked us to PAY for the meal!!!! He did not apologize nor did he do ANYTHING to help us when I had lost over $1000 worth of my personal belongings at their business. Sushi was horrible (at least what I did eat) and service is horrendous. If you want to eat at a safe place where you are not in fear of being robbed, I would not eat here. This place is horrible.

My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's day. It was BOOKED on Valentine's night so we settled for the next evening. They had GREAT customer service. The host stands at your table until everyone is seatted properly THEN he leaves. The waiter comes and tells you all about hte specials and how to order -this was a plus since it was our first time there. The food is VERY VERY Succulent! RECOMMEND the SUPERIOR dinner. It has a bit of everything. And the appitizers are great - TRY THE CHICKEN WINGS. it's worth the money, if you substitute the chicken liver for the chicken wings. I had the superior dinner and my boyfriend had the lobster dinner with substitution for chickenwings- our bill was $91.42
Pros: GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Cons: New Chef's may not be as entertaining.
