Since opening in 1930, this glittering theater on Hollywood Boulevard has served as a movie palace, music hall, home of the Academy Awards and venue for big-budget productions. Founder Alexander Pantages of the Fox Theatre chain originally presented MGM flicks and vaudeville acts, but center stage eventually gave way to live theater. The Pantages underwent a major restoration in preparation for the L.A. run of "The Lion King," bringing back the magnificent Art Deco gleam with gilded ceilings, lush trimming and a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. It remains a true Hollywood landmark.
WICKED is wicked!

I recently saw Wicked at Pantages. I highly recommend to everyone to go and see it, before it leaves. My only complaint is, that there are too many people that come late, and they are allowed to be seated 15mins after the show started.
- Pros: Parking, Performances
- Cons: Allowed seating after show started
Coolest Theatre in LA

I love the Pantages. If you're going to see a show in LA, I say see it here. This is truly one of my favorite places in LA: Great Ambience, not a bad seat in the house, and one of the coolest interiors of any theatre you've ever been in, it's like going back in time. In any case, don't take my word for it, check it out!
I've never had a bad seat.

I've been going to the Pantages since I was a teenager in the 80's when I saw "Beatlemania" . Most recently, I saw Wicked here only a couple of months ago, and I'll be going again in August. The restoration project brought the theater back to its wonderfully designed and gilded self. From the details in the lobby to the comfortable red velvet chairs in the the theatre, they did a marvelous job. Best of all, I've never had a bad seat here. Even if you never see a show here...they do architectural tours. It's definitely worth seeing.
