What People Are Saying About Eat Well

In Short – This hipped-up diner teems with folks looking for cheap meals--especially weekend breakfasts. Each location has a distinctive vibe, and casual servers let patrons take their time to order and eat. The menu features comfort food with worldwide influences, such as the Big Mess, a heap of cayenne-spiced potatoes with sausage, spinach, mushrooms, zucchini and scrambled eggs. For lunch, a highlight is the Buddha Bowl, a subtly seasoned dish of sauteed vegetables, tofu, rice and beans.

Surprisingly fresh and tasty food!!!

I have to say, i expected just another yummy greasy spoon-type diner when my hub and i went here for saturday brunch recently. And, while the atmosphere is definitley casual diner with no frills, the food was beyond expectations! I had the breakfast burrito, which was fab with no potatoes (yay!), lots of black beans, eggs, cheese, and fresh avocado on top... super tasty with spanish rice. But the real winner was the salad (cobb or chef - can never remember which is which) that my husband had. Big chunks of bacon, blue cheese, avocado, on a bed of spinach and iceberg, with a big freshly cooked chicken breast on top. He literally said it was the best salad he ever had. Though there was a slightly long wait, they seated us quickly and service was fast and efficient.
- Pros: fresh made to order food, coffee that keeps coming
- Cons: slight wait on weekends, parking can be tough.
Service Great...Food and atmosphere Not so Great

I'd been wanting to try Eat Well since I moved to Silver Lake a couple of months ago. You would think from the long wait that the food would be incredible! I had the Buddah Bowl that another user had said was her favorite. Let me tell you, there is nothing special here. The tofu tasted old and the beens were almost tasteless despite the liberal, dry curry or all spice...not sure what, sprinkled on top at the end. I was also a little surprised by the prices, since the atmosphere of where I was sitting left a little to be desired. I was in between dirty bins of dishes being loudly thrown around, with a bell ringing out of control from the kitchen and a customer swatting flies with his news paper. And why do restaurants charge the same amount for a prefab veggie burger as they do for beef burger? I will never understand this.
On the other hand, service was great! Everyone at Eat Well is sincerely nice, which is rare for a place this hip. Maybe I'll go for breakfast next time, if there is a next time.
- Pros: good service, hip place
- Cons: food tasts like nothing
Best breakfast in Silverlake

I have never had a bad experience at Eat Well. My food has always been terrific, I order the same dish every time. The Buddah Bowl. It is so good, and enough food to fill you up and save the rest for lunch. Not to mention healthy! I would come here everyday if I didnt work so far away. My only wish is that they would open for dinner!
- Pros: tasty healthy food, friendly staff
- Cons: long wait on weekends
Did not live up to its name...

Unfortunately, I have to say that I did not "eat well" here. My husband and I visited for the first time last Sunday afternoon. We saw that the restaurant was pretty packed, and we figured a place this popular must be for a good reason. After a fairly short wait, we were seated at the outdoor seating area on the sidewalk which was very pleasant. It was all downhill from there. It took our waiter, a pretty young guy, FOREVER, just to take our order. Then after he took our order, we had to wait around 45 min. to get our food. This is somewhat understandable if the restaurant is packed, but by this time, the crowd had thinned out considerably. I don't know what can possibly take so long to make a club sandwich and sausage scramble. Come to think of it, it probably didn't take that long to make and was just sitting on the counter for a long time because when the food finally came out, my scamble and biscuit with gravy was frigid! Horrible! Not to mention that the eggs in the scramble were over cooked. Needless to say, we won't be eating there again. Luckily, the Cheesestore was right next door and we popped by there and had a wonderful experience!
