Cheap Eats East of the 101. Just 1 block east of the 101 on Santa Monica on the left is a cozy little open air/open window family run Mexican place. 4 or 5 tables, and counter seating inside with 5 or so large table on a patio outside. Basic menu, 30 or so selections, all basics are cheap $1.00 per taco, $3.00 for burrito, and so on, combo dishes around $6.00. They serve Breakfast, lunch and dinner. They sell beer too. Everything is handmade on the spot. Tortillas pressed fresh and heated on the grill, from what I saw there was no pre-packaged frozen anything. Portions are all very large, no skimping here. Virtually no parking, park at Jon's or across the street. Cash Only! Very little English spoken here. Nice place though, I had the $3.00 burrito and it huge and very spicy without the salsa. I'll definately go back.
