unusually friendly indigenous folks, inviting line sunset blvd, cool place, wonderful fashions
Funky Silverlake Boutique.
A hip boutique with a vintage vibe that stocks local artists and designers. For the trendy Sunset Junction area this store has reasonably priced clothing, with shirts about $30 and dresses under $100. There's also a sale section in the corner and look for the $20 shoes. The owner is usually manning the shop with her tiny dog and always willing to help. I love their gift items that include stuffed versions of sushi, glass marble magnets and unique stationery items.
The best thing about Pull My Daisy is their vintage photo booth... get a strip of 4 black and white photos for only $2!
The one-stop shop for the latest threads, wacky gifts, local art, progressive causes and petting a cute doggy..
In Short
Named for a Kerouac-penned art film, this funky clothing, art and gift shop with its weiner-dog mascot Bingo and purple stuffed monster draping the dressing room is one of the longest-lived at Sunset Junction. The specialty is hip, affordable attire for men and women, including vintage men's work shirts, Ben Sherman corduroys, slouchy Goorin hats, skintight black Switchblade Stiletto jeans, hand-painted floral leather belts, 45 adapter earrings, snarky buttons and anti-war and "Hummer Bummer" shirts.
A message from an addict.
A few months ago, I discovered the slightly tainted land of silver lake. The indigenous folks of this quaint East L.A. neighborhood were unusually friendly. As an L.A. native, I just wasn't used to it. The charming, but trendy stores that line Sunset Blvd. are, ohhh-sooo, inviting. You find treasures and trash and trashy treasures.
Pull My Daisy encompasses all that is Silver Lake. The people, the ambience, the smell.... Sara has totally turned me into a Dean watch maniac. I seriously have every color and size. You seriously can't beat her prices for Dean artifacts. It's totally worth the search for parking.
Not As Good As I Had Expected. When I had heard that this was a cool place to shop, I thought it would be worth checking out, but it wasn't. As a vintage clothing conoisseur, I found the that the vintage selection was very limited, as well as the new. Plus, I thought the prices were too high for what the clothes were--even with some of the stuff being on sale. Also when I first walked in, the staff was so busy chatting with each other that I was totally ignored. Usually I try to give every place I check out a fair chance, but I really couldn't find anything all that nice about the place except for the owner's cute dog and the store's semi-funky decorations.
