I was planning to take the family and pulled up the menu but no pricing. Why? do they have something to hide or is it so overpriced that they do not show pricing? Decided not to go for this reason....

Terrible Service...Very Disappointing. Con: It is very disappointing that they do not substitute guacamole for sour cream. Their service is rude. They mock their customers. I heard servers on the phone insulting customers after hanging up on the phone, using vulgar language in Spanish. They have no respect. Elena and Laura do not seem happy to be working there.

Pro: Tepeyac has good food. Carlos and Mirasela were nice.

In the end, the food is good. It is slightly overpriced; but I will not go to an establishment that treats their customers in such a terrible manner.

Simply the best in town!!. My family and I have been eating at El Tepeyac in East Los Angeles all my life, and from what I've heard my parents ate there while dating in the 70's. Ironically, this is also one of my father in-law Ray's favorite places to go eat his Huevos Rancheros with Pork Meat and not to mention a personal visit and shot of tequila from the one and only Manuel himself. El Tepeyac is clearly the place to go eat real, authentic Mexican food. Their burritos are the bomb and the fact that they pile on the cheese makes it even more mouth watering. My favorite are the hard tacos.....tasty crunchy and filled with all the good stuff. My brother loves the Oscar Burrito (with extra cheese please). In fact, now that our mother has moved back to the hood, my brother and I will be having El Tepeyac tomorrow morning for breakfast. The breakfast of champions, what better way to start your morning!!!

New Mexico. There was a restaurant with the same name many years in New Mexico. Good to know there is one in Southern California. It was good.

How To Feed A Family of Four W/ One Plate. In a friend of mine's quest to find "all things mexican" she decided to go find this spot in East LA that she saw on Man vs Food. I did not realize that we were meeting them @ a "hot spot".(literally it was about 100 degrees outside & a popular place) They waited in line 45 minutes to get in this place. Our favorite part was the owner coming outside with "apple juice" w/ a slice of lime & salt.(they do not SELL alcohol so it was a treat) After we were seated we watched the waitress serving a monstrousity of a burrito to neighboring tables. Five people could eat off that thing or one person will have leftovers for 3 days. I did not order that but my friend's hubby did with the intent of sharing w/ wifey. Let's just say the after picture still looked like a WHOLE burrito was there. I was more reserved and ordered the Hollenbeck, because Anthony Bourdain and I are kindred when it comes to ALL THINGS PORK! It was a spectaular burrito and the salsa verde on the table was a kicker! My hubby ordered the t-bone steak. It was tender and full of flavour. When he asked for jalapenos the owner came back with a fresh tomato, onion & jalapeno pan fried and it was the best. We also ordered the horchata which was refreshing and not overly sweet. Recommend it? I say venture out to East LA and get your grub on......the owner's personality alone earns them high marks and we know why his business has lasted 54 years.

One big burrito!. I had seen this place on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and Man vs. Food. I went on a Monday to avoid any crazy lines. We did have to wait 20 minutes for a table but it was worth it. The taquitos were the biggest I have ever seen and they serve it with tons of guacamole. I am looking forward to another visit.
