We don't shop anywhere else.
It used to be that we'd trek to Vons, Fresh and Easy, Wholefoods, and our neighborhood Mexican groceries to buy the various items we eat.
Now, it's a one-stop shop at Fig Produce. Their produce is fresh, local, and half the price of the chain stores. They stock an amazing variety of vegan and vegetarian foods, including Quorn, Daiya, Gardein and some other hard-to-find brands. If they don't stock it, ask for it and they will usually have whatever you wanted in by the next week.
Oh, and if you happen to be a meat-lover, they have a huge meat counter which I can only assume is as fresh and local as their produce.
Plus, the staff are friendly and always glad to see you and hear your compliments and requests!

Wonderful neighborhood market.
Figueroa Produce is a tucked back in the parking lot behind the 99 cents store. They have a great selection of ethnic groceries, meat substitutes, non-dairy frozen desserts and organic produce at really good prices! Also plenty for meat-eaters - a wide selection of fresh and packed meat products, a deli that makes fresh sandwiches and amazing guacamole and salsa to go...a bunch of gourmet delights and classic barbecue fare as well.
One impressive thing about this place is the fact that they don't sell cigarettes or alcohol. Unfortunately, it also means they are struggling to keep afloat....so if you live in the area or are passing through on the way to work in Pasadena or going to the Rose Bowl...you should stop in and check it out.
Say hello to the guy at the checkstand - it's more than likely that he's one of the owners, a group of very hardworking and friendly fellows.
