Crumbs now has several locations, but I like this one best. The cupcakes are large one is enough for 2 people to share. Get the pistachio.

Mini Cupcakes = Perfect for Any Party. Although this bakery is a New York transplant, I'd argue that a comparison can be drawn between Crumbs cupcakes and the superficial people in Hollywood; what's on the outside is the best part. Without the frosting and goodies on top, Crumbs cupcakes don't really stand out. However, once they're all dressed up, it's a whole different story and you just can't wait to devour them. Snocaps, peanut butter cups, brownies, and pistachios are just a few of the things that they use to decorate their cupcakes. Think that sounds good? Wait until you hear some of their flavors: White Hot Chocolate, Fluffernutter, and Caramel Apple are just the tip of the icing. Flavors aside, Crumbs also wins the award for having the most options for cupcake size. They offer "taste" (a mini), "classic" and the "Signature" which is a giant cupcake. I really only use this bakery for their mini cupcakes which are absolutely perfect for parties.

Sweet in the city: NYC's cupcake emporium heads west.. Setting up its first West Coast bakeshop just a cupcake's throw from Sprinkles (chalk it up to that nervy New York 'tude), this candy-colored emporium doles out the sweet stuff seven days a week. Beneath the gleaming glass case are rows of baseball-sized cupcakes, frosted in every color of the rainbow, hinting at the flavors within. That vision of cream cheese frosting, red velvet crumbs and white sprinkles? That's the famous red velvet. And that minty-colored mound covered in chocolate chips and Oreo crumbs with a dollop of vanilla buttercream in the center? That's the Grasshopper, of course. With over 30 flavors to choose from, it's a virtual candy (or cupcake) land. Perfectly formed. Lovely to look at. Delicious to eat.

Crumbs reminds me of childhood.... I have been around to most of the cupcake bakeries and Crumbs reminds me of when I was kid eating my birthday cake. The cake is moist and the the frosting is creamy. I judge cupcakes by how a a simple vanilla cupcake tatstes. I couldn't even finish a vanilla cupcake from Sprinkles. It tasted like cardboard and stale air. I had two bites and I threw it in the trash. Vanilla bakeshop has more of a gourmet feel. I loved their red velvet and meyer lemon but their vanilla was to sweet. At Lark I had the lemon white chocolate. It was ok but my husbands chocolate moose frosting was divine. Yummy was average. I have yet to find the perfect cupcake but Crumbs will satisfy me till I can find the time to bake in my own kitchen.

Not so great.... So... I've heard alot about this place on TV, but it wasn't as great as it's made out to be... The cupcake was huge and the prices were pretty reasonable... But the cupcake itself was pretty dry... Service was okay... but if I want some really great cupcakes... I'll be down the street...

No need to lick up these Crumbs. Crumbs may trump neighboring competitor Sprinkles in cupcake size, but not in quality. Compared to Sprinkles, Crumbs? offers cupcakes that are considerably larger and come in wider range of flavors on a daily basis. Classic red velvet and chocolate fudge cupcakes as well as unconventional Twinkie and blueberry swirl varieties can be found in the display case that spans almost the entire width of the small shop. Crumbs further distinguishes itself from Sprinkles by offering other desserts, including cookies and brownies.

Yet while it might be fun to look at the Reese?s Peanut Butter cupcake erupting with candy bits or the banana split one that is even topped with a cherry, Crumbs? creativity is not matched in taste. Their cake mix in their colorful, M$M cupcake came across dry, and the icing was in desperate need of a more full-bodied creaminess. The moistness of Sprinkles? cupcakes and the balanced richness of their icing flavors were much missed. It was suddenly very apparently why of the two similarly-sized cupcakes shops just blocks from each other, Crumbs was not the one with the long queue of costumers out the door.

If you?re going to spend the money on gourmet cupcakes, you might as well spend the extra time waiting in line at Sprinkles.

Biggest cupcakes!. You definitely have to split these cupcakes with someone! While Sprinkles down the street has the best red velvet cupcakes, Crumbs definitely has the most creative and interesting kinds of cupcakes. While the cupcakes can sometimes be dry, other times amazing, overall their cake is very good and their fillings add something extra to the cupcake. My favorite is their chocolate raspberry one!

Better Cupcake than the Ones Down the Street. At first I was amazed that another cupcake shop would open just a few blocks away from the constant line in front of Sprinkles. However, being a local and seeing it alll the time, I finally decided to try a Crumbs cupcake during lunchtime.

Now, just a little background, I work in an office where vendors are DAILY sending us Sprinkles cupcakes (try a little originality, right?) Yeah, I jumped on this bandwagon but soon tired of the dry, too dense, too sweet and too much frosting of the famous Sprinkles.

I tried the "Hostess" cupcake at Crumbs, which was an homage to the Hostess cupcakes of everyone's childhood. I was pleasantly surprised - the icing was glossy and fresh, just a small layer topped by a squiggle of light fluffy cream. The cake was light and spongy, supermoist and not too sweet. It was absolute heaven, the kind of cupcake I would like to make myself!

To all those standing in front of Sprinkles on little Santa Monica - walk a few blocks down to try this tastier and more delightful treat. I would rather recieve these cupcakes than anyone else's!

NOT the best cupcake in la!. price point and portions are great, cupcakes just fall short in taste. Way too much frosting, cake was dry nothing special! I was dissapointed.
