enjoy good food, full streets, not that cold ac, fantastic service, best option, decent food prices, enjoy dinner
Upscale Italian cuisine served in a chic, modern setting.. First came Lamill. Then, there was Reservoir. The trifecta of upscale Silver Lake eateries is complete with the addition of fresh, contemporary Domenico. A sign of the times? Assolutamente. No longer simply a sanctuary for artsy Eastsiders and indie rockers, Silver Lake has become a bonafide dining destination. Beyond a roomy sidewalk patio with plenty of breezy seating, the restaurant’s intimate interior features cement floors, a modern, crystal chandelier and crisp, white everything, from tablecloths and walls to leather chairs and banquettes. In keeping with the authentic Italian dining experience, smaller portions are served as first (primi) and second (secondi) courses (same menu for lunch and dinner). Italian-American chef Michael Young presents a nice variety to choose from, including antipasto starters like beef carpaccio with black truffles, crispy calamari with slices of lemon, seared ahi tuna and a hard-to-beat meat and cheese plate with prosciutto, salami and aged parmesan. In addition to several pasta dishes, like linguine with clams and homemade beet tortellini, first courses generally feature a risotto or two. Meat and seafood dishes follow for the second course, which may include a whole sea bass, black rice-stuffed quail or tomato-braised veal rolls. Impeccable service and artfully-presented dishes are on par with the splurge factor.
Real Italian Food!!!.
I really want to give it 5 stars but there were a few drawbacks. Not that it's a big deal, I'd still go back.
First off, they don't have a liquor license (to sell). But I think they will get this soon (they're fairly new). This doesn't bother any average spender since you could bring your own bottle of wine free of charge.
Silverlake's streets gets full at night since people come home from work and park on the streets. The valet is your best option for a "Lincoln". If you're coming from sunset do not bust a U-turn to get to the valet. Do it at a light that allows U-turns.
The food prices were decent. Fancy appetizers, entree, dessert for less than "Grant."
The place is small but the decor is fancy. One drawback is that the AC wasn't that cold. It was a lil cooler sitting outside especially in today's heat.
One last thing, the host offered me a seat and asked me that I could sit anywhere I wanted and then suggested the table next to the window. And then tells me after I'm seated that there's a reservation for that table. So giving me a time limit to enjoy my dinner wasn't cool at all. But I don't want to be rude and have that ruin my dinner. I just want to drink my wine and enjoy good food.
Everything paid off once I was being served by Domenico himself. Great guy! He made up for the lil drawbacks.
I highly recommend this to anyone who has a feel for having real italian food.
Chic decor, fantastic service and deliciousness!!. I had a wonderful experience at this new restaurant in Silver Lake! The all white decor keeps it bright and modern why it still has a sophisticated and romantic feel. The food was an absolute stand out... will definitely go back!
