Silver Lake bar/eatery = affordable take on tapas + wine.. This schoolhouse turned chic wine bar/restaurant is a hidden gem for locals who want a laidback wine tasting experience in a pseudo-Parisian setting. Dark chocolate hardwood floors and cream-colored walls set the foundation for the glossy mahogany bar topped with martini glass lamps. Recommended wines are scribbled on a chalkboard, although there are enough vinos on the list (both by the glass and bottle) to keep you drinking for days: reds, whites, pinks, sparkling and dessert. The food menu, which changes often and stays priced almost entirely in the single digit range, is a mix of everything from deviled eggs, charcuterie and cheese plates to vegetables, grains and proteins like halibut, clams and wild boar sausage. The entire space is quite charming, but prime seating can be had along the front patio, beneath the umbrellas illuminated by strings of lights and the glow of heat lamps.
