The hotel formerly known as a Best Western and later the Marina Pacific Hotel has once again transformed into something new. Only this time, it really seems to mean it. With fresh paint and a beachy mod aesthetic--think cute, clean and slightly rock 'n' roll thanks to the rock star photos lining the walls, not to mention the dining room and patio called Hash and the rooftop lounge known as High--the beachside haven still keeps things chill with rooms starting at around $150 a night. Best Rooftop Lounge and Hotel

Spent the weekend there with my girl friend and it was excellent. Our room had a really nice view looking out to the ocean. We went to the HIGH lounge and the sunset was breathtaking. It is a very nice hotel and the employees are great. I would highly recomment this hotel to everyone that wants a nice plance to stay by the beach.

Rooftop bar

We have recommended Hotel Erwin several times to friends because it is a very cool spot in Venice with a gorgeous view from the roof top bar. I have taken friends there many times to hang out for a drink and enjoy the sunset but the service is so bad! One time we didn't even get any service and decided to walk out after 45 minutes. A few other times it took forever to get our drinks even though we reminded the waiter. This Saturday I had enough! We invited some of our good friends visiting from abroad to have a sunset drink and we were denied access because our 10 month old baby wasn't 21!!! Eehhh seriously...? Yes, he was very serious! Well, luckily Shangri-La in Santa Monica has just as beautiful a view and they didn't mind our little daughter taking a nap in her stroller while we enjoyed cold white wine in the sunset...

I haven't stayed overnight since I am just a few blocks away, but I have sipped creative cocktails on the rooftop bar. It's dynamic!

Great Relaxing Time

We had a great relaxing time here for 2 days celebrating my friend's birthday with a room on the 6th (top floor) floor. Room was nice with a prvate balcony with the Ocean view. Staff was very friendly and courteous and very tending to our needs...one young lady in particular was named Nancy...who was very,very nice and helpful..Thanks again Nancy!
- Pros: excellent service! comfortable room..
- Cons: no pool or jacuzzi
