great sandwiches, overpriced food, really great little sandwich shop, not good department standards, expensive tshirts, cool sunglasses, cool owner
Crappy over-priced sanwhiches!.
I have tried this place a bunch of times in hopes that my sandwich would be better(I've heard mixed reviews from people). I seriously don't get it why anyone would like this place though.
The restaurant itself looks really cool and modern. However, the staff inside are nothing more than rude, douchey wannabe hipsters. No one smiles and both times when they got my order wrong, they never apologized(almost made it seem like it was my fault).
The owner is probably the worst of them all.
All this would be fine if the food was out of this world....but sadly it is nearly the opposite. When I pay for a $10 sandwich I am expecting it to rock, the only thing that "rock"ed was the stale bread that hurt to bite into. Like I mentioned before, I have been to this place a number of times and think that only once did I get fresh bread.
I have now officially given up on this place and would suggest you do the same.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Located across from CBS studios, this casual, quasi-retro spot draws a neighborhood crowd looking for a well-crafted sandwich. Mixed vintage tables and chairs, green banquettes, penny tile floors, old globe lamps and eclectic local art create an inviting atmosphere, while the sidewalk hosts wooden benches and Adirondack chairs. High-end traditional and modern Italian sandwiches are custom made--Italian cold cuts; prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil; imported tuna with fresh herbs, lemon and havarti, or a meatball sub with ground Angus beef and provolone. Choose your own bag of gourmet potato chips, and maybe a Bit-o-Honey for dessert.
actually this place is good. I disagree with the above. Always had great sandwiches here. Parking is a bit tough, but other than that no reason not to go. Food in the $6 to $10 range.
Bad Hygiene, Overpriced. The sandwiches at the joint are good (especially the meatball) but unfortunately not good enough to offset the fact that the workers have no concern for health department standards. The cashier touches money and then the food, the guy making sandwiches is all over the place and doesn't use gloves. They are begging for a visit from the Health Department! I tried this place twice, both times the wannabe player owner was there and really took the level of this place down 10 notches. I won't go back even though I liked the sandwiches.
Don't go to this place. The food is awful and overpriced and the atmosphere isn't much better. That is unless you like hanging out with eight douchebags wearing sunglasses and expensive t-shirts and an owner who's about one tenth as cool as he wishes he was. AVOID.
