Citysearch Editorial Review. While the original cafe on Third and Fairfax has a rustic yet elegant feel, this Marcel outpost located on an island on Third Street Promenade feels touristy. Still, the signature dishes and breakfast remain quite reliable, especially if you don't mind paying upwards of $12 for a sandwich. The eatery's best feature is its formidable wine list, which offers selections from all over the world, including California, Australia, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Chile, and of course, France. There is a small indoor space available, but why bother eating here if you aren't going to enjoy the buzz of the Promenade from the safe perch of the outdoor patio? Just be prepared to be crammed next to a group of tourists who think they're enjoying the real deal.
