Thyme Cafe & Market. Thyme Cafe & Market in Santa Monica serves up fresh, seasonal foods for locals to eat in or take out. The Ocean Park Blvd. spot offers up a relaxing cafe seating area inside and out where you can select gourmet foods off the ever-changing menu or snack on some prepared salads, homemade pastries, cakes, cookies and breads.

Get there early for brunch, it fills up fast and try favorites like the Fried Egg on a Pretzel Croissant (with avocado, lettuce, tomato, cheddar and mayo) and the BLT and egg sandwich on a fresh baguette with mixed greens. (pictures above and below)

cute, cozy and great food!. Really good food and nice ambiance. However, sometimes there isn't enough seating and it gets kind of cold and drafty inside.

The pastries and drinks (hot and cold) are excellent!

Citysearch Editorial Review. With a resume including Chez Panisse, it’s no surprise that when L.A. native Maire Byrne decided to switch from caterer to caterer/cafe owner, people took notice. She still works the same caliber of events she has since 2004, but Byrne’s Santa Monica gem of an eatery has given this piece of the ‘hood a dash of the old “ideal-nosh-spot.” It’s the kind of easy, appealing place everyone wishes they could just walk down the block to get to. Think dine-in and to-go breakfast, lunch and dinner options that are relatively healthy and palate-pleasing in a clean, airy space that manages to appear modern, even industrial, with accents like exposed beams and steel, while giving off a comfortable, convivial sensibility at the same time. This is where you can order a BLT egg sandwich on a baguette, a grilled chicken and arugula Caesar salad, a pressed roasted turkey sandwich with caramelized onions and brie on ciabatta bread, lemon bundt cake with raspberry sauce, heath bar cookies or a lime meringue tart to enjoy at one of the tables .. or to take home or to the Hollywood Bowl.
