This was my first time at The Counter
in Studio City. I came with a big group of friends including my dear yelp friend, Diana L. (check out her review for this place too!) :)
There's a really good deal on Wed. after 4 PM: 4 mini burgers paired with 4 beer samples for only $12. A few of my friends got it and after watching them eat it, I totally wished I got it too! It looked amazing! And they raved about it! And they were stuffed afterwards. Each of the burgers and beers are really different so your tastebuds won't get bored! I'm definitely going to try that next time I come on a Wednesday!
Instead of getting the Wed. special, I just customized my own burger - a 1/3 lb beef patty on a regular white bun with gruyere, sundried tomatoes, grilled onions, organic greens, fried egg, and garlic aioli. I really like how they put the aioli on the side even though I didn't ask them to so I got to choose how much to put in. Their sweet potato fries are also pretty tasty! Thin and crispy, just the way I like them. But I've had better ones elsewhere.
Service was pretty good too. The only problem with big groups is that you can't sit until your entire party arrives. Oh! and another note: don't park on Ventura Blvd! There's a huge lot you can park in behind The Counter next to Vons and the other stores.
Best burgers ever!. So much better then any of the new burger places around. I crave this place like nobody's business and try not to eat there more then once a month. Great service, great high quality food
The Best!. My local Counter location, I actually came here before it was opened for a Friends and Family dinner. The service is always spot on, food delicious, and they're always adding new items and specialty burgers monthly. Added bonus: Wednesday they have mini burgers and beer pairings for $12. Definitely something to check out!
So. Much. GOOD. FOOD..
The Counter is a GREAT place to grab a burger. The burgers are HUGE (even the 1/3 lbs burger), the toppings are plentiful, and the service is great. The only issue is the wait - everyone now knows HOW great these are, so you may have to wait for a table. But trust me, its worth it.
I Built my own burger, with a 1/3 lbs patty, wheat buns, cheddar cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and steak sauce. AMAZING.
And on the side, 50/50 fries with onion rings. DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!
They build it just like you want it!. I had always wanted to go here and my dirtala surprised me last night and we went for dinner. We got there just before the dinner crowd which was awesome since we did not have to wait for a table. I had a blue cheese, grilled onion and avocado burger and it was dee-lish! So cute. They give you little clipboards with a step by step process to build your burger (veggie and chicken options available) that you check off what you want on it. I am looking forward to my next visit.
The Counter = Good Grub!. The Counter takes the phrase "Have it your way" and unloads on it with a furry of flavor. Take your miniature golf pencil and start checking off the toppings to pile onto your custom built burger. With good stuff like horseradish mayo, grilled pineapple rings, applewood smoked bacon, aged cheddar, and roasted chilies, you really can't go wrong. Keep on checking them off and the higher your burger will get... and hey, sometimes it's a good thing to have a burger piled taller than wide. Or stop in on a Thursday where you can grub on their super delicious mini slider burger and beer pairings. But remember, these aren't your everyday sliders. We're talking smoked Gouda, crispy onion strings, Canadian bacon, guacamole ... need we say more? And when you match them up with a range of tasters from a refreshing Hefeweizen to a dark, rich Porter, it's grub greatness. But don't forget about the first course on this tour through deliciousness. Make sure to begin your journey with a fifty-fifty ... a tasty tray filled with your choice of half sweet potato fries, shoestring potatoes, or shredded onion rings. Better yet, take it to the next level and go for the fried pickle chips. While you're chowing down, don't forget to soak up the atmosphere with painted skateboards hung from the wall, hip-hop and rock tunes streaming as if a DJ was in the corner, and a waitress or two in rainbow suspenders. It's kind of like your surfer / skateboard buddy from high school took over a diner, started flipping some seriously juicy burgers, and added a serious mix of beers on tap. So grab a burger, add on a fifty-fifty, fill up your pint with a pale ale, and ride off into the center of the Good Grub universe. See more at www.thegoodgrub.weebly. com
