What People Are Saying About La Barca Mexican Restaurant

In Short – Walk into this West Adams bar and you'll feel like you've stumbled upon a tucked-away gem unmarred by the outside world. Ornate mahogany furniture, dimmed candelabras and kitschy artwork transport you to another world--one that doesn't take itself too seriously. At first glance, the 1950s style jukebox appears completely out of place but actually, it reflects the wide and colorful spectrum of patrons. Enjoy Britney or Selena as you nosh on tacos, massive burritos, and chips and salsa.

Editor's Tips

Look Good:
If you have trouble spotting this hidden delight, look for a patrol car out front. L.A.'s finest get discounts, so you can bet on encountering at least some LAPD blues here.
Fun Fact:
The restaurant has been family-run for 25 years and a time-honored rite of passage for USC students. Most Trojans under the age of 50 can regale you with entertaining tales of post-game celebrations or underage revelries.

Really Enjoy The Food!!

by urtizalfredo at Citysearch

I enjoy their food here. Lots of mouth watering flavor and I like the super fast way they get the food out to you, without feeling hurried. More accurately, I think I should say that the food comes out in successions, at the perfect timing.

Roach Salsa!

by LuvJones85 at Citysearch

I have been there on more than 1 occasion but one particular time my friends and 1 went and there was a roach in the house salsa. Now when the management came by he had the nerve to infer that we put it in the salsa which made the experience worse. So long story short DONT GO!

  • Pros: cheap drinks
  • Cons: Roaches in salsa
