Are you in a healthy, stable relationship built on trust and honesty? Do you miss the angst and drama of being lied to and then blamed for the dishonesty when you try to reason with your partner? If you're looking to fill that void in your life, well, give FlatRate Moving a call! They'll send over one of their "expert" quoters to walk around your home or apartment and attempt to count your belongings. If you're really lucky, they'll send over Joy Karavany! She'll say things like "because I came out to give you a quote, the price can only go down, not up." She'll come off as honest and completely reasonable. She leaves and you sign the agreement thinking "Wow, it's so nice to do business with someone as honest and reasonable as I am! Thank you Yelp for leading me to these fine people!"

Your move date comes and you have 6 guys at your apartment and these guys are awesome. They are moving stuff and wrapping all your furniture and it seems like the place it emptying itself at turbo speed. You've never seen anything like this and again you think "Thank you Yelp for never leading me astray!"

They have 80% of your stuff in a truck and then the bad news comes…the quote was WAY off. The quote said you had 75 boxes but they're already loaded 150 boxes. The quote said you had two computers and two desks, but you really have 2 desks, 3 computers, 5 monitors, 2 desk chairs, 2 floor mats, and boxes full of the stuff that was in your desk. You think to yourself "What happened? I'm no Harry Potter, I can't make my stuff disappear and reappear…I mean it was all RIGHT HERE."

But you tell yourself it can't be that bad. These are reasonable, honest people. THEY WEAR SHIRTS THAT SAY "NO SURPRISES." Besides, it's 2:00 PM, 80% of your stuff is in the truck and you have to be 400 miles away reporting at your new job in 2 days. Turns out, it CAN be that bad. You owe an extra $1000. But the guys are really cool and one of them calls his boss and gets your price down $300. Trying to make you feel better, he tells you that this happens all the time. The quoters low-ball people to get their business and then they leave it to the movers to break the bad news.

You sign the inventory and agree to pay the extra $700. While you're sleeping on an air mattress in your new place it starts to bother you. Who do they think they are? Is it really my responsibility that Joy Karavany doesn't know how to count? What happened to no surprises? What happened to an up-front, honest price? You get all fired up and call the manager at FlatRate. He says, "well you pay for what you move. You had more stuff than we quoted." He tells you he'll "investigate" and call you back. But he never does.

Weeks pass and you get more angry. "Oh I see, you can't even return my call now that you have my money!" You decide to file a Better Business Bureau complaint. I mean, they have a BBB seal on their website, they'll listen to the voice of reason, right? You write out your complaint and they respond with:

"FlatRate Moving feels that it has performed as per contract and has provided all services agreed." As in, you signed the paperwork and we delivered your shit. End of discussion.

"But it's not that simple!" you cry. "I trusted you. We had a thing…you said my price would never go up, only down. You had me by the balls at a time of weakness and asked me to sign on the dotted line. I thought you were honest. I thought you were upfront. I thought you were a different kind of moving company, FlatRate Moving. I must have thought wrong. "

memorable expexience. Just a brief letter regarding my good experience with Flat Rate Moving.

When I first called Flat Rate, I spoke with relocation consultant, Alice Lin. She was easy to work with and knowledgeable; she put me at ease and was very prompt in sending me a confirmation email. I was able to review all the information I needed prior to my move, and Flat Rate was kind enough to provide extra information like the “Important Information for Persons Moving Household Goods (within California).”

On the day of my move, I received a call from the movers confirming that they were on their way. They even showed up early, which is always a plus for me. Driver Esteban and helpers Jose and Cristian knew their stuff. I was very impressed with how they protected my belongings by taping a blanket to them and even double securing it with cardboard over the blanket. They were fairly quick, but always careful: non of my possessions sustained damage. They also took direction well and were available for consultation. I was even impressed with the way the vehicle was driven from my old to new place...slowly and carefully. Even though my new place has stairs, they moved and set up things just the way I wanted them, making it easier to unpack and get settled. Also, there were no “surprise” extra costs: Flat Rate stood by their quote.

I couldn't have asked for a better moving experience, and would highly recommend you company to my friends and family for their future moving needs.

Most professional & stree free moving. I have served with the military for over 20 years -- It required me to contract with a moving company about every three years. This was by far my best experience--compared to previous moving experiences 1) When unpacking, the movers "put things away" in a nice orderly fashion. Other movers just dumped things and set them on the floor. 2) I went to organize my kitchen after the movers left just to find that the movers had already completed my kitchen and put everything away in good, logical places. The kitchen was already completed! 3) On several occasions, I had to request to move the same item more than once--from one room to another room after changing my mind. Movers I have experienced in the past would complain about this .... But the Flat Rate movers appeared happy to do the extra work without complaining. 4) I could see a lot of a vigilant care with regards to not making any marks on my walls as furniture was moved. Thanks to the moving crew (Boris, Roberto, Erick, Alfonso)

Recommendation for Flatrate moving. Just recently moved with Flat Rate & I want to recommend them because they did an awesome job. I moved 3 times in my life & out of the 3 moving companies I used this was the BEST ONE!! I used them based on some of the reviews even though I was skeptical. Anyway I went with them after I met the guy who came to give me an estimate & I felt comfortable with them. Two thumbs up for these movers. Great job!

Positive move. The guys were cheerful and positive despite the obstacles they were up against; admittedly, it was a thankless job. The crew just came in and went to work! No complaints. They were great.

Stress Free Move!. Thank you so much!! I would highly recommend your services to anyone who wants an easy stress-free move. When I need to move again, I will definitely be calling you. Gregory and his team were fantastic - they showed up on time, packaged and wrapped up my furniture and delicate items, moved everything very quickly, and were very professional and friendly. Everything arrived at its new location in perfect condition. I was hesitant to go with your company at first because the rate was higher than the quotes I received from other companies, but it was worth every penny and I knew I wouldn't have to worry about any hidden charges. Flat out (pun intended) an amazing experience with you. The moves were great on both ends, courteous, skillful and fast! You answered the multitude of questions that I had very expediently with great competence and managed our service delightfully. I appreciated Flat rates’ willingness to accommodate changes in the move load as it continued to grow.

Well done FlatRate Moving!. I read a few reviews about this company before I decided to use them. I was nervous & skeptical because all the horror stories you hear about moving companies holding your stuff hostage because the move cost more than expected & wanted more money or broken stuff, etc. To my great surprise & relief this company lived up to everything they promise. At the end of the day I had a big smile on my face & I was happy to tip the guys what they deserve. Thanks Flat Rate!
