North Hollywood’s full-body waxing and lingerie retail shop does have a clean, femme-chic ambience and a fun name, but its proprietors (former Wax on Melrose staffers) have managed to accomplish the serious business of blending high-end materials and services with accessible prices--a true feat when it comes to the kind of ritual that generally requires monthly return visits. The staff uses European blue hard wax and strawberry cream wax, which they claim sticks to actual hair instead of skin for a less painful pull, to wax everything from noses and toes to, well, “the tush” for men. A regular bikini wax will run you $35, the Brazilian is $50 and the full-leg combined with the Brazilian totals $105. Women’s services run the gamut in price and area from $10 for the chin and $15 for underarms. There’s an entirely separate menu for men that ranges from the “Manzillian” to ear waxing. The salon also offers lash and brow tinting, special occasion services and house calls priced per request.
