Plaisir Consists of Succulent, Mouth Watering Desserts!!.
I don't think there is a bakery in Hollywood/Beverly Hills area that rivals Plaisir for quality. Their bread is outstanding. The crust development is just perfection; thick, crispy crusts that crack into fluffy, light interiors.
Plaisir has also mastered the croissant, making something properly proofed, buttery, airy and feather light. All of their pastries are equally wonderful. I've never had anything from Plaisir that wasn't fresh, perfectly cooked and wonderfully presented. If you haven't tasted their chocolate cakes and cream puffs, you're missing out!
Cheers,
Jeremie Lachance
Excellent (not so) light bite.
There are many choices for lunch in this area. I had to be dragged in to this one since I have my faves. Glad that I went.
I had a mushroom quiche and it was fabulous. Cappuccino was really decent, albeit kind of small for a "large". I'm not sure if I can go back in a breakfast mood because they have no ketchup. Umm... I guess there's no ketchup in France. I'm serious.
Kudos for a yummy meal, I'll try a sweet crepe next time!
PS. Please relax about the ketchup, I realize that it might not suit your culinary point of view but you'll only limit your patrons by not having it.
A little taste of Paris. Run, get the cream puff. Seriously. It rivals the best pastries in Paris, which I believe can be attributed to the French chef. This is my new go to spot for decadance.
Just a little note on the parking, you get a 1 hour FREE Parking at the Trader Joes Parking (entrance on Westmount Drive).
Best pastries in WEHO.
i am a big fan of Plaisir. the pastries are fantastic, the crepes are truly delicious and how about the quiches? wow! i am so happy this place opened. i am addicted to it.
i highly recommend this place to any pastries lovers.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Did somebody say cream puff? What about deliciously sweet crepes? Or Belgian waffles topped with sugar, organic maple syrup, Nutella, fresh fruit or all of the above? Yes, yes, and yes! This adorable little sweet shop might look good enough to eat with its candy-colored tiles, modern light globes and sleek, modern design, but it's the never-ending assortment of pretty pastries that lures passersby. The brainchild of Philippe Dray (you may remember him from Cafe Flore on Robertson), Plaisir (French for "pleasure") is truly all about the pleasure of eating. So go ahead. Order a second scoop of ice cream. Indulge in that slice of red velvet cake while sipping an espresso. And by all means, enjoy one of the savory quiches and croissant sandwiches. Dray wouldn't want it any other way.
Cream puffs!. I am a daily reader of Daily Candy so when i saw that they recommended Plaisir during the weekend and their famous puff pastries, I decided to go and check it out. The service was great, but they had not any cream puff left. They told me that actually because of the Daily Candy article, they had sold all their production.Good for them, bad for me. The flavors of the day were vanilla and strawberry, but apparently they change them almost every day. However my disappointment did not last long as i decided to have a nutella crepes with strawberry and a cappuccino. I also ordered one of the chocolate croissant as they looked really good. EVERYTHING was extraordinary and the service was perfect. I have ordered some cream puffs for the weekend just in case they would sell all of them once again.
Yummy Red Velvet. I m a fan of this place since it opened. Their sweet crepes and waffles are to die for, and the red velvet cake they have added to their options recently is probably the best red velvet cake i have ever had. Not to mention the coffee. How can anyone go to Starbucks or Coffee Bean after tasting their ice latte. I would only love to have more options in the menu for lunch.
So gooood!!!!. I m completely new to this world of writing reviews but after my experince at Plaisir, I felt encourage to do it. First of all, let me say that the friendly service, the details to attention, the decor and specially the quality of food at very reasonable prices is the main reason why i am writing this review. When i enter into this little new cafe, i feel like going into Paris. It is quite amazing how you can be transported from LA to France! i am a big fan. Plaisir you rock...
Great Waffle in LA!!! Finally....
I am a waffle fan and it is very difficult to find in LA a good quality waffle at a reasonable price. I was not expecting to find waffles here as it looks more like a coffee shop, but when i saw someone eating one
with nutella, i could not go without tasting it! and let me tell you...it was YUMMY!!! it s probably the best i ve had in ages!!! as good as the original Belgium ones i had in Brussels some years ago!...the chef would not tell me the ingredients (I understand) but i m definitely coming back to have the maple syrup one with strawberries!...the coffee however was good but not as good as people are saying..as i notice people talk a lot about their coffee, it is very reasonable for the price they are charging (definitely better value than any other, specially Starbucks) but not as exceptional as some say...
Great expectations. Hope they move to NYC..
I was on holidays in California and was recommended this place by some friends who live in WeHo... Once I gave it a chance, I tried to go as many times as I could while I was in LA.
The place is "too beautiful" (let me explain), I sometimes tend to think that trendy, fashion places do not have the best food. In this case, croissants are absolutely amazing. Crepes are awesome and I was attended always with a smile (I have´nt always got that attention in LA). A great place with great food that makes you think you are in... I don´t know, I´ve never been to Paris but something like that.
Anybody knows if these guys have franchises outside California? I´d love to get those croissants in NYC.
