Best Sushi Experience. I never really like sushi restaurants but this one has to be the exception. I absolutely loved this place especially their albacore with onion and the crispy rice with spicy tuna. I loved the atmosphere and everyone was really friendly, especially Harry. He was the funnest sushi chef I ever met and he made my experience memorable. I would come here again and again and I recommend everyone to do the same as well.

Izakaya by Katsuya. I first experienced Katsuya at eh LA live. I fell in love with their Crispy rice with spicy tuna on top and other appetizers like Albacore onion, Baked crab Hand roll. I was so excited when i heard they were opening a Izakaya by Katsuya in Manhanttan Beach which is my very own back yard. i was impressed because they had the same awesome taste excellent service and great atmosphere created by the stylish Japanese style interior and diverse clientele.

Awesome experience. I've been to this restaurant several times, and I've never been disappointed... each time I have been here, the experience has been great. Great service, great food... they explain each dish they bring out, the atmosphere is awesome.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Katsuya Uechi’s casual, bustling WeHo homage to the Japanese pub has branched southward to Manhattan Beach, where salty breezes offer an ideal atmosphere for sushi, seafood and cold premium sake. Unlike Uechi’s slick, upscale Katsuya chain, this neighborhood spot is charming and intimate. White walls, wooden beams and floors, and simple white lanterns create a look of elegant simplicity, energized by a beachy vibe that has surfers and locals rubbing elbows with native Japanese, especially at the sushi bar. The menu riffs on traditional izakaya (Japanese pub) fare ranging from little dishes of homemade agedashi tofu, sauteed kabocha, and shisito peppers, to noodle soup, shrimp tempura, roasted duck with yuzu pepper and high quality sushi, sashimi and rolls. Signature specials include crispy rice with spicy tuna, skip jack tataki salad, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, and foie gras with kobe beef.

Tiger and Tom are the best!!!. Last weekend my Fiancé and I stopped in for dinner and much to our surprise to see Tiger running the restaurant. I had known tiger from a previous restaurant where he convinced me to first try sushi and to this day i have become an avid sushi lover. He is truly amazing at recommending new dishes and getting you to try things you never thought you would. We sat at the Sushi bar and the food was amazing and Tom our sushi chef really took great care of us. The "tom roll" or aka our customized dynamite roll was to die for. Izakaya is lucky to have such great people working in the restaurant. I would highly recommend giving this place a try!
