Party starts Sunday at 4 p.m. for Cinco de Mayo. With $7 Herradura Blanco shots, $7 Herradura Reposado shots, $6 El Jimador Margaritas, $6 Palomas, $6 Batangas, and $5 El Jimador tequila shots. Taquero Julio Arenas, who was just voted the best taco in L.A by L.A. TACO'S Taco Madness, will also be on hand offering street tacos for $1.50.
If you're in DTWN LA and need a margarita, this is your place. They have an interesting selection of tequilas as well as special margaritas that are spicy, smokey, sweet and salty.
Best bar in DTLA for tequila & mezcal cocktails. Chill vibe and one Tijuana Gigolo will give you a buzz! Try to get Noel as your bartender, no one can beat him and he's quite the cutie as well.
TEQUILA! – The newest addition by 213 Group to the downtown bar scene, Las Perlas is to tequila what Seven Grand is to Whiskey. It’s a casual, no fuss type of bar where you can grab a drink and play some pool while listen to some tunes from the juke box. Unlike some of the trendier bars, there’s no appetizer menu here; chips and nuts are all they have to help keep that tequila down. If you’re only going to order one drink, my suggestion is the “400 Rabbits” which combines tequila, blackberries, and red wine.
Citysearch Editorial Review – If tequila brings to mind shots of throat-searing alcohol sucked down during Spring Break, this Downtown L.A. shrine to tequila and mezcal will change that with its menu of all things agave-flavored. The lime-hued, cantina-inspired spot features an impressive backdrop of tequila and mezcal bottles behind the bar, indoor and outdoor patio seating, a pool table and good jukebox. Standout cocktails include Jalisco, a tequila version of the Manhattan; the spicy Poblano Escobar (mezcal, pineapple juice, blood orange and poblano peppers); and the festively named Disco Mariachi, as well as handcrafted margaritas (the ingredient-heavy drinks take bartenders awhile to make, so be patient and expect to pay accordingly--the specialty cocktails run around $12 each). Think of it as a tequila version of Seven Grand. And, no, you’ll never have to eat the worm.
