Got Some Time On Your Hands?. My local go-to restaurant for all things BBQ, I usually call in my order and pick up since it's all made-to-order, meaning it could take a bit to be served, and when I'm in the mood for a tri-tip sandwich, I usually want it fast.

Citysearch Editorial Review. There's a sign at the tiny cashier counter that says "All our food is made to order. Your patience is appreciated." But even that fair warning might not be enough to prevent your patience from being tested at this strip-mall barbecue joint that lures in a steady stream of far-flung BBQ junkies, curious foodies and hungry celebrities. Indeed, the red walls are lined with signed headshots of LeVar Burton, Whoopi Goldberg, and just about every sports figure you can imagine. (You might recall that this no-frills find is the very place where Monique famously told Oprah she'd be celebrating her Oscar win in 2010.) Once you've endured the requisite wait, get ready to tear into mouth-watering platters of just-'cued chicken, baby back ribs and other slow-cooked meats slathered in sauce that's neither too sweet nor too tart--it's more of a marriage between South Carolina vinegar piquancy and spicy Texas sweetness. Sides are just as tempting, with choices like sticky mac-and-cheese, steamed and salty collard greens, smoky baked beans and skin-on french fries. Worth the wait? Um, yeah.
