Houston's, we have a problem. South Beverly's seriously snazzy new grill can't help but make you look a little bit like the red-headed stepchild in the extended Hillstone Restaurant Group family chain. With its effortlessly appealing menu featuring the likes of Thai steak and noodle salad, Greek chicken with tabbouleh and vegetarian curry with mango chutney among more traditional high-end surf and turf, it would be difficult not to please even the pickiest palate. There are also classics like an already well-known burger, Carolina-style ribs and to-die-for deviled eggs. But it's not just about the good eats. Servers are friendly and well-dressed in crisp white and black, the cherry woodwork everywhere forces you to bask in clubby cushiness without feeling like you're in an outdated old boy's clubhouse--modern Danish decor flourishes take care of that. And the cosmopolitan "Honor Bar" flanks the dining area with its own fancy snack and sandwich menu for convivial revelers craving a smart setting. The restaurant's wine list is also very good, and anyone longing for the familiar can order the Houston's Apple Cobbler for dessert.
