This New York bakery is famous for a reason, they offer delicious cupcakes that keep you coming back for more. And don't get me started on their banana pudding that stuff is ridiculously addictive. Cute space and even cuter cupcakes.
not NY but still yummy. i'm not sure why all the haters here. yah, it's not as good as the magnolia bakery in nyc, but it's still pretty damn good. my fav is the banana pudding and the cheesecake is really good. of course i need to eat a cupcake every time i go too. there was one spice type of cupcake i didn't like but the rest of the stuff is yummy. how can people dis on cupcakes man??
Desserts are yuckie but the coffee is good..
The first time I walked in to Magnolia's was an experience. I ordered a cold coffee drink, it was good coffee. I also ordered the banana pudding, It was also good.
The next time around I had a mini pudding pie, it was yummy too.
Then I had the same thing on another occasion and it was gross! We also got a piece of cake and the frosting was yucky!
A friend told me that she bought a cupcake and was very disappointing, the frosting taste like Crisco oil.
But, the coffee is good!
Waste of my 1 a week desert.
I was excited to have my 1 treat for the week..I tried Magnolia and was totally disappointed.I have had better from a grocery store...I dont always eat cupcakes ..But when I do, it wont be Magnolia.
Try Susiecakes, or Sprink;es...The Best !!
Citysearch Editorial Review. This long-awaited import from New York City (the original location is credited with starting the current cupcake craze) has finally arrived in LA, bringing with it dozens of crave-worthy desserts for sweets lovers. The airy, art deco-inspired bakery offers decadent options ranging from classic cake flavors to ice-box pies like Blueberry Jamboree to cookies, mini cheesecake, brownies and bars--basically, everything to satisfy even the sweetest tooth. The cupcakes get a lot of acclaim, but the delicious banana cream pudding made with fresh banana slices and vanilla wafers is a real standout. Stop in early for coffee and a muffin, or late-night after dinner for a sweet end to the evening.
VERY mediocre.
What were you thinking from a business perspective? Parking is a disrace. Good job Magnolia management and marketing department...NOT!
Cupcakes (red velvet, choc, vanilla) were all nothing special. Certainly nothing to rave about.
Does LA really need another cupcake joint? Really?!! NO.
Joans on Third is just down the street - Go there anyday of the week over magnolia.
Final note: Magnolia will NOT last in LA more than 12 months.
