A gimmick. People will buy into anything these days.. Baxter tries to pull off this is a real barbershop.. They go as far as saying not spa, no tv, just strictly a barbershop.. Those are true but a REAL barbershop doesnt charge $40 for a haircut and $40 for a shave.. Good or not, no barbershop charges close to that much.. So this is basically a Hollywood male salon not a barbershop.. Just caters to the rich here in LA like everywhere else.. You end paying 45 to 50 after a tip, what about those guys like myself who like to have a nice fresh haircut weekly even bi weekly? Thats pushing $100-200 a month... Even though they give great cuts and shaves, its an easy pass for the gimmick they play on..

Citysearch Editorial Review. Just when you thought style and substance were doomed to mutual exclusivity in LA, a veteran men's grooming brand opens up a shiny barbershop where the gents actually know what they're doing. Baxter of California has been turning out high-end skincare products--night creams, toners, shaving tools--for men since 1965. The company has since taken a broader approach to all things fashion- and style-related by focusing on current trends toward a traditional men's aesthetic. Patrons of the handsome WeHo spa may expect a Steven Alan-clad staff, a fully stocked retail outlet and an old-school vibe to go with wet shaves, trims and other services.

My new spot. I also found this place on a couple style blogs I read. The interior is the most beautiful barber shop I've ever seen. It's a very relaxing & comfortable place to get a cut or shave. Kind of like a spa for men. I was most impressed with the service and attention to detail. The barber asked me numerous questions about my hair to really figure out the best approach and style for me. He took his time unlike most shops I've been to in town. I can confidently say this is my new spot.

Highly Recommended!. An amazing place for men in need of good grooming has been skillfully established.

I had heard about the shop opening from a couple of blogs I read and decided to stop by to get a cut and shave. It was my first time getting a straight razor shave and I was definitely very impressed. Got an awesome cut as well. I left with a great shave, great cut, my first straight razor, and some other grooming products.

will definitely be back!

Finally!. Finally a place in L.A. that is the total package. A great space with great service...what more can you ask for. No tv's, no beer, no spa like services (except maybe for the hot towel). Just plain old good barbers with great skills in a great space.

Great cut and shave. I am a fan of the Baxter products so when I heard they opened up a barber shop I had to check it out. The shop has a great traditional vibe and it was by far the best cut and shave I have ever had. They sell some great products too.

This is the spot.

L.A has finally arrived. So i went by on Monday - unhappy to see that they were closed. Came back on a wed. night at 8:00 (they close at 9:00 hallelujah).

They explained that closing Monday allows them to stay open on Sunday - so i get it.

I was a bit nervous, since its a new shop - and as pretty as it is inside, but what really counts is the cut and service. I tried the other L.A "Barber Shops" but the quality of barbers was horrible.

These Finley guys nailed it, asked all the right questions, took enough time, and did not rush, even though people were waiting. Hot towel, to clean me up, and this was not even a shave!

Great work - A+++ lets hope it stays this way.
