Citysearch Editorial Review. This Silver Lake wine bar may already be the neighborhood's favorite. With a background at Silver Lake Wine and Cafe Stella, it's no surprise that the guys running the place get both the vibe and the offerings just right. The cool, intimate space is rustic chic, anchored by a reclaimed lumber bar with featured wines displayed on two suspended window panes. Decor consists of a wall plastered with pages from an Argentinean dictionary, antique cameras atop stacked-book shelves, and a retro Indian motorcycle suspended on the wall. While the smallish space is stocked with ample seating, it fills up fast, so get there early to snag a barstool, tall copper-topped table or a banquette in the back. Smokers will appreciate the nook out front with an antique mirror and rustic beam partition. Indie rock is on the speakers, and the service is friendly. Beyond the night's six or so featured wines, all 40 of the bar's bottles are available by the glass--and you can also grab a bottle to go. In addition to the wines (expect a lot of boutique labels), you'll find eight craft beers on tap, which may include local brews from Eagle Rock Brewery and Bootlegger's alongside selections from Belgium, Germany and beyond. The beer selection changes as frequently as a keg is tapped, so there's always something new on the chalkboard.
