This expansive spa might be a bit of a drive from LA proper (hey, it's still in the same county), but think of it as making your treatment all the more rewarding. Located inside the Miyako Hybrid hotel, this is the first US spa to offer Japanese "ganban-yoku"--a bedrock bath made from ore mined from the mountains of Kyushu. Guests recline on one of the spa’s eight stone beds, which are placed low to the ground and located in a sauna-like steam room. When heated, the stones emit infrared rays as well as negative ions, which help heat the body and are said to restore cells and encourage detoxification through perspiration. Other services include Shiatsu massage, reflexology, Reiki, aroma body treatments and facials.
