Becareful !!! Very Dishonest person. Warning !!!! Becareful with this Dishonest person. His look is very promising. But, when he talks about the deal and agreement than you see the liar liar and liar.
Don't Waste Your Time!!.
I was given a gift from a friend from Gilt City for 2 custom made shirts by Rik Ducar. Like Creek, my experience was unpleasant form the start. I've worked in the high-end fashion industry for over 13 and can tell you that Rik knows little about fashion, textiles or fit. While trying on a "fit shirt" to get my measurement, I had to keep reminding him about sleeve width and making sure it was and athletic fit (higher in the underarm).
After selecting my fabric (which I was disappointed with the selection), I was given the time frame for the shirts to be made. Let me bring up another point; I was told it would take 6 weeks to make 2 shirts... You can get a custom made suit from Prada made in Italy and ready in-store in 2 months. But I was in no hurry so I was fine with the timeline. 8 weeks past and I heard nothing from Rik. I called the store several times with no response. I finally got ahold of Rik a week later and he said he will check on the order and call me back. That never happened. I then receive an email a few days later stating that he was having a dispute with his shirt maker, but it was resolved and the orders would be filled in the coming weeks. That never happened. 3 1/2 months later, with no communication from Rik, I emailed him that his business practices was unacceptable and that I wanted a refund. Again no word back and another email about his supplier. I wrote back that I no longer cared about the shirts and didn't want to ever do business with him again and that I was going to contact Gilt and inform then of his business practices. I then received and email apologizing for the delay and said that I would get a refund. He also asked that I not inform Gilt. Is he kidding me?
It is not 7 months later and while I did get my money back from GIlt, I have yet to receive the money I paid for the "better" fabric selection I made. I truly wonder if the positive experiences written about Rik Ducar on here are real... somehow I think not. BEWARE.
Unprofessional and poor attention to details.
I would not recommend this tux shop. Rik was disorganized from the start. It took several emails and phone calls each time to get him to respond back and correct mistakes he had made.
Despite the fact that I sent the measurements to him and his associate 1 month in advance, they lost them and didn't notify me until a day before the fitting. At the fitting, they had the wrong size shirt, but were able to get the correct shirt to another groomsman later that day. This was the sole positive experience with Rik.
Unfortunately, Rik forgot to include buttons and cuff links with the tux. I found out at the wedding that another groomsman was also not provided with cuff links and buttons. He, too, was given a shirt that didn't fit and didn't have enough time to get to Rik's alteration shop, so the groomsman had to wear a regular dress shirt. Not cool.
Even returning the tuxes was an exercise in frustration. Rik said he would provide labels to the groomsmen to ship the tuxes back to rental company he uses. It took 3 emails and 2 text messages to remind him to send us the labels. He initially sent 2 labels for returning 7 tuxes. When we reminded him there were 7 tuxes, he said he thought only 2 guys would be returning them for the rest of us. Facepalm.
This was the worst experience with renting a tux I've had. If you rent from Rik, know going in that you're going to have to micromanage him to get even the most basic things accomplished, and sadly, you won't be able to trust him to get things right the first time.
The BEST tuxedo shop in Los Angeles. Period.. I'm proud to say I was Rik's first groom to be dressed by him at his new Los Angeles shoppe. I had diligently searched for a very particular tuxedo at many locations and online retailers, just to be disappointed. Luckily I saw his advert here Citysearch and contacted him immediately. His LA location was still being put together, but that didn’t stop him from giving me the utmost professional service and advice in picking my wedding tux. Every meeting and fitting with him and his staff was friendly, calm, timely and above all knowledgeable. He knows his craft well and I received many compliments on how dashing the tuxedo looked on the day. If there were 6 stars, Rik would definitely deserve them all. Bravo, sir! For any potential grooms or just guys who want to up their suit “game”, the list begins and ends Rik Ducar. I will be a returning customer for sure.
Without the help of Rik and his fantastic staff of girls I would have looked like a clown for my wedding. Lucky there is a place like Rik Ducar to go for some help. I had a such a great experience working with them I sent my brother in there to buy his business suits. Such a great selection and such a knowledgeable fashion staff.

Way Different and Great Selection. I haven't purchased yet--though I am going forward with Rik Ducar for my wedding. The space is cool--and the service is great. Rik took the time to explain the difference in Hugo Boss and Hugo Red Label (i like this piece). They also are going to manage the whole task of tracking down measurements for my guys. Great shop--very different than other tux places..in a good way!!
Great sevice and selection. I bought my first tux from Rik at his shop in Los Angeles. He was extrememly helpful and knowledgable about different style combinations. I came into his shop 1 week before the wedding, and Rik special ordered my tux and got the tailoring done in time for the event. It looked great, and I received a lot of compliments. The value was great too. I spent under $500 for a beautiful modern tux, shirt, shoes, and bowtie.
Great Customer Service, Selection and FUN.. I've been working with Rik on one of my weddings (I'm a coordinator) and he's been wonderful. I saw his suits at Jenny Yoo's bridal fashion show, and knew that his collection were what my groom was looking for - high-end at reasonable prices, and Rik and his staff was really great to talk to, and have been ever since. GO!
