Citysearch Editorial Review.
Along with Bloomingdale's, this sparkly three-story Nordstrom is the department store anchor for Santa Monica Place. Although not the largest outpost of the upscale chain, this location does serve as a bit of a flagship, if not trend-testing ground, with lots of exclusive and exciting inventory artfully displayed in just about square foot of the space. On the first floor you'll find glass cases gleaming with gloriously shiny baubles, makeup and fragrances from all the usual high-end suspects, shoes in every silhouette imaginable, and buttery leather handbags and wallets from brands not available in other Nordstrom locations. Even better, many of the selections don't go beyond the $250 mark--a steal for this store, and particularly for this town. On the second floor is where you can shop the women's various departments as well as an impressive section devoted to fashion-forward accessories like big, chunky rings in stones like druzy and other of-the-moment pieces that change at least every two weeks. On the top floor is where the men's and children's departments are located, as well as Blue Stove restaurant and wine bar serving globally-tinged small plates and vino.
