nice place, great service, very good stewed green beans, excellent marinated pork, great meatballs, worst dining experiences, nice murels
amazing and authentic.... Old Venice is an amazing restaurant that is owned and operated by a wonderful family. Whenever I want to go to a place that has a great atmosphere (not too stuck up) and great food, Old Venice is the place. Amazing Greek food, and also great Italian dishes too. My favorites include: Manhattan Pizza, Pork chops, Lamb Chops, Saganaki, Trio platter, and of course the Gyro. Big portions with great prices. Definitely recommend.
My Favorite Manhattan Beach Restaurant!!!!!. Been a regular for 15+ years. Old Venice remains my favorite in Manhattan Beach. Initally kept going back for their Classic Greek pizza. It's THE best. I've now ventured thru the exceptional menu. The rebuild after the horrible fire is fabulous...wonderfully capturing the ambiance of a Greek cafe. I love this place. The Hantzarides family, Julie, Andrew and Natalie, put their hearts and souls into the food, service and the warmest welcomes ever!!!! The Greek music is a plus! Jimmy, you'd be so proud!!!!!
Best Greek & Italian food in Manhattan Beach.
Nothing is better than the Greek Salad followed by one of the
Old Venice Specials. The pizza is one of the best in the South Bay. Service, you couldn't ask for more. Great Dining experience,
I would recommend it to everyone. Enjoy your meal.
YUM!.
We have been coming to Old Venice for several years now and the service and wonderful atmosphere has only gotten better. We highly recommend Old Venice, these are some of our favorite dishes.
Veal Parmigiana, Chicken Kebab, Shrimp Scampi of course let's not forget Lentil Soup, Pizza and Rice Pudding.
Come hungry, the portions are very generous.
A Must Go Place When in Manhattan Beach!. I have been going to this restaurant since I was a little kid! When i was a little kid my Mom used to take me to Old Venice and I liked the Pizza's a lot! My Mom on the other hand liked the lamb shanks and I never understood why...Well now that I am older I can tell you i order the lamb almost every time i go to Old Venice and its just to die for! Other than that, the green beans with sauce on them are delicious and the lasagna is simply incredible! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and consider it one of my all time favorite places to eat!
Best Meatball Sandwich!.
My first time back since they re-opened. I went often before the fire. It was by far the best meatball sandwich I have ever had! Great meatballs, wonderful marinara sauce, and awesome bun. It was huge. I was hungry but brought half of it home. The service was excellent.
I do have to say that the entree prices seem on the high side. I will probably try them someday, but I want to see more reviews first to see if it is worth it since there are a lot of good, reasonable Italian places close by.
Burned down, We miss it.
They had great hand tossed pizza. Nothing on the menu dissapointed. Service was great. The owners were always there and it showed in quality.
The place burned down and we miss it. I hope they can rebuild soon.
Very Good Greek. A large group of us went for lunch. No complaints about the food. Large portions. Very good bread basket. Souvlaki platter was delicious - Marinated pork was excellent, rice pilaf good, stewed green beans (marinara on green beans) very good. Service was standard. Price was a bit much for lunch time - $13 for the souvlaki platter. The pizza looked excellent. One in our group said she thought it was too cheesy - I told her there's no such thing. Guy who got the gyro said it was good. If dinner prices are the same, I'd say it's definitely worth it. I'd rate it higher if it wasn't as expensive at lunch time.
wonderful experiance. Went with date on her recommendation, so I read previous review and was iffy about going, but my date was right.Best greek food I've had anywhere in the south bay,my date had pizza margarita, have only ever had pizza this good in New York.Very small but good wine list, there were some kids but the parents shouldn't have brought them to a nice place if they can't keep them under control.Candles on table, blue & white linen, nice murels added nice touches.Music was a bit loud, portians were huge, no room for dessert.
Terrible Food and Service.
This place is so unorganized. Several people had to get up and ask where their food was and what happened to getting some weater.
It wasn't even that crowded and they couldn't get the orders right or serve the food in a prompt fashion.
When the food did show up it was very average. I would call this place more of a sandwich shop with restaurant prices.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had.
