Food took me here... but the whole area is great. I used to live in LA and love this interesting and friendly part of the city with great restaurants and equally great shopping.

Brunch at La Dijonaise is a must, and their Cappucino and pastries are outstanding. Another favorite is the Let's be Frank Hot dogs... I get weak just thinking about sitting by the hot dog cart enjoying my Cane Cola and the best hot dog ever. Of course, Fathers Office is not bad either, just a bit crowded sometimes for my taste. HD Buttercup has the most interesting mix of accessories, and.. well... there are plenty other stores to browse if you are looking for furniture, bedding or accessories.

Great restaurants and good furniture shopping. I went here last week and had great food at Father's office and found some nice decorations at HD Buttercup. At first I was confused by the name, Helms Bakery District, but if you go to their website you can see that there are a ton of furniture stores.
