We didn't like it.. Its a snobby environment and holy cow it's expensive!

Also the owner isn't a good dancer so that's a bit odd to me and some of the other parents that have left.

To the disappointed reviewer if you read carefully that reviewer didnt have a problem with gay orientaions so why did you make it about that?..just curious..

THANK YOU SOPHIE DANCE!!. Ever since we walked through the doors two years ago, my husband and I have been wildly impressed with the establishment and the environment. We think the staff is eclectic, friendly, and really in tune with the kids. We couldn't be happier with the summer "camps" and the end of year show is AWESOME! On a personal note: I have to say I was disappointed to see that another reviewer commented on the possible sexual orientation of an instructor. Please, aren't we all beyond that? This is a place for our children to EXPRESS themselves. Let's make sure we are continuing those lessons at HOME.

Love Love Love!!!!. In my working mom's group someone had mentioned the negative review for Sophie Dance and so we pulled it up on City Search and then proceeded to read the review from Keisha1990- and HOWLED! Moms and dads, this reveiew is clearly written by a competitor. My family could not be happier with SophieDance and Sophie herself, and let me tell you, I put in around 80 hours a week and let's just say that punctuality is not exactly my strongest suit. I have NEVER been charged for bringing a child late to class. Not ever ONCE. Furthermore, this is the kind of nurturing, open environment that provides more than just dance classes for your children, but instills a sense of community awareness in them as well. My family participated in the blanket drive SophieDance sponsored this year, and Sophie also works with the Ceasar Chavez House [Temporary Housing for Homeless Families With Children] teaching dance for free. And please, anyone who writes POSSIBLE SUBSTANCE ABUSE has CLEARLY never met Sophie. We all got a chuckle out of THAT one in particular. We love SophieDance!

Pure Magic!. How wonderful that our children get to take dance classes at a studio that teaches them acceptance and tolerance for others and their appearance. How fabulous that we are teaching our children that beauty comes from the inside. Surely we are looking at OUR OWN reactivity to the material posted below and not projecting it onto our children. Sophie provides our community with a studio that emphasizes respecting one another’s individuality and brings diverse populations together to celebrate the magic of the imagination. It seems she has also gifted several of the adults with much to look at and be explored.

I feel blessed to have a space that celebrates ones uniqueness and emphasizes community in my life

I LOVE Sophie dance. I LOVE Sophie Dance. The studio is a wonderful place to be with your children. Sophie and the other instructors are so passionate about what they do it's infectious! There are so many happy students at this school, I would recommend it to every parent in LA. For the person that doesn't like the rules...GET OVER IT! Good luck trying to find a place that doesn't have rules. They have the rules to protect their business and their other students from late people like you ruining the class. As for the person with the warts: how can you be sure that your child got them from Sophie Dance? I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem.

I think that Sophie Dance has way more good going for it than anything else. If you have doubts just go in and check it out, you will fall in love with the studio and Sophie!

My child contracted plantar warts at Sophie Dance !. My child contracted plantar warts at Sophie Dance and she wasn't the only one. When I described my daughters weekly activities to our pediatrician he said he was 99.9% sure it was the studio dance floor which is common in uncleaned dance facilities (her other activities wouldn't expose her to plantar warts). The worst part is that it has spread to different areas (her hands forearms and shins). It's out of control and a big embarrassment for not only my child but the family. They are not going away!

One of the mothers also showed me a lesbian reality show that my daughter's instructor was on. Sorry, not the kind of influence I want on my daughter. And it's nothing against gay people, I voted for gay marriage, but the show was sleazy and really inappropriate.

SOPHIE Dance is Not for our family.. My Mom and baby sister had a lot of problems with Sophie Dance because of all the over done rules. First off they charge 20 dollars if you are late. Sorry SOPHIE but we are not all rich and sometimes a parent is late. If your studio was organized that should not be a problem. The kid just sit and wait in the waiting room. All other studios give a refund in case of emergency with a doctors note but not Sophie. We didnt like that the parents are not welcome to watch. When I was little my Mom always got to see the last ten minutes of class. We will NOT be going back! We think they are all snotty and rude over there. They have got a bad reputation in the community. They will probably erase this cause our friend left a bad review and they erased that.
