What Our Expert Scouts Say

Coney Dog

Chili dogs made in legit Detroit style. Try a cheeseburger or a loose burger and do not forget the pillowy, funnel-cake-esque onion rings. Oh, and keep it Midwest style with some Faygo!

Decent food, slow service. Takeout is the way to go.

Another Wannabee. Quality of the food is poor to fair, the chili is just that.,chili, not coney sauce, and they use organ meats (beef hearts). The casing on the hot dog does not disolve in your mouth very chewy,YUCK!!

Also what do you think about the owner Mickey B., threatening me??

Still open?? Wow,about time you leave L.A., and go back where you belong!~

Love the burgers, fries are excellent and I've warmed up to the coney dog (with chili). And you can't beat the Monday specials. Worth going.

Pretty good not stellar!. The food was good, I was not too impressed with the chili itself. I think I was overall expecting a different type of hot dog because I am used to the larger ones and these were just average dogs. Sure they were topped with chili and cheese but they just weren''t what I expected. I did love the chili cheese fries and the overall feel of the place. The service was definitely great, no complaints. Its close to work so I will probably eat there again but would I drive across for a Coney dog? probably not.

Overpriced and Mediocre. Had the California Jack which was a bland mess.

The chili just made everything all soggy had no flavor.

The fries were decent and cooked well. I would say there are much better and more affordable options in this area on Sunset. It was worth a try but I will go elsewhere in the future.

Man Bites Dog! ...Lunch at 11.. Went here today for the first time and my impression of the place is that it was a nice lunch spot. Our group of three sat at a table larger than necessary, but nobody tried to crowd three guys into a small booth and I appreciated that. The offerings were standard, not much by way of variety on the menu...but what was there was tasty. A couple of nice TV's going with news & sports but never too loud. And let me say - the place was bright and clean. I had the Turkey Dog, (hold the onions- cause I still had work meetings to attend). One last thing.....Mmmm...good fries.

Well Done. It was nice to go to a place where everything was made well, vs. a restaurant with 100 things on the menu made poorly. Really loved the classic Coney Dog & Feygo Pop!

Gallon of Gas or Hot Dog?. OK hot dog won this time. A bit pricey in my opinion. But the food was good.

Love the Coney Dog and Chili fries. So far I went there twice. The first time I had the Coney Dog and Chili fries. The chili was spicy and I enjoyed it a lot. The coney dog with chili and onions toppings was really good too. I had a bottle of rock and rye pop that balances the chili and the onions pretty well. The second time I had a loose burger which is a hotdog bun topped with ground beef chili. It's not bad but I would recommend to stick with the coney dog. I also had fries with no toppings, but it''s so much better with chili you need it. The place was pretty crowded and noisy between noon and 1pm, too much for me, but I guess that's because the place had just opened, so it should be more quiet after a while. You should try it for yourself!
