Love this school!!
by cweld
I moved to Portland so I am no longer able to attend, but I miss it dearly!! The lessons I learned here have stayed with me throughout the years. Allen's positivity has made such an impact with me and still rings through my ears and has made a positive impact on how I interact with people in life. He also has a great eye for what works and what doesn't in a scene, what casting offices are looking for, and how to network.
The lifebook academy is more of a family than just a school. Everyone is so supportive of each other- like you have a team of people cheering you on, its fantastic.
Free Your Soul at Lifebook

So I was initially contemplating whether or not I wanted to write this review, mainly because I'm selfish and I don't want class to be flooded with people (because I love my stage time), but then I decided to go with my better judgement and share with the public about the school that has helped shape me into a better actress. Just 3 months ago, I was feeling like my career wasn't getting anywhere and I wanted a change. I stumbled upon a peer review about Lifebook and I'm really thankful that I found it.
As actors, I believe that it's very important for us to build a community and share information and knowledge with each other. The people at Lifebook offer this and much more. In fact, if you need anything from someone with a camera to a baby sitter, you're bound to find help 4 times over from the Lifebook community. Yes, I'm here to act, but I'm also building lifelong friendships along the way, and I've only been a member for 3 months.
Allen is a fantastic coach and mentor and he will surely push you in the right direction with your career. He finds each person's strengths and areas of opportunity and challenges them individually. He doesn't sugarcoat the truth and he will encourage you to work as much as possible. Everyone gets a chance on stage at least once per night, sometimes a lot more than once. The amount of stage time you get is completely up to you and there is no limit as to what you're allowed to do.
In the three months that I've been here, I can honestly say that my confidence and talent has grown, allowing me greater opportunities for jobs as an actor. And after trying to join SAG for the past 3 years with no luck, all it took was 3 months at Lifebook ;) ;)

Lifebook is one of the rare gems in Los Angeles that actually helps actors grow artistically, creatively and personally. I've never been more happy with my discovery of Lifebook.
As an actor, Allen Levin's top notch expertise and insight as to what works and what doesn't has helped me creatively and has instilled a greater level of confidence. His critiques after each performance are thoughtful, insightful and truthful. It is very gratifying to know that there is such a place, in Los Angeles, called the Lifebook Acting Academy.
Great acting school + supportive community
by Oded Yosef
I found Lifebook a few months ago when I felt ready to take acting classes. I didn't know what to expect, my only experience was from what I saw in movies and on TV. Right from the get-go I felt at home. Mainly due to the teacher Allen levin, who's presence is welcoming, supporting and 100% friendly. As I started to perform monologues and scenes with other students, I encountered Allen the critic, and it was nothing like any other critic: no harsh words or mocking, it was all about support and finding the best way to get the most out of it! The students are awesome, and I have already done quite a few scenes with different actors. It's a great place to study, and you can come audit a class for free, so you really got nothing to lose
Come here to let your artist's soul play

I came here by chance, I thought, until I realized it was exactly what I needed to jump-start my flagging desire to act.
Allen Levin is a caring, knowledgeable instructor who will make sure you don't de-rail yourself.
Everybody gets to go up on stage every single class.
Some wonderful, creative work with improv and audition techniques as needed.
There's a great, supportive bunch of people just waiting for you to come play.
